00:00Let's take a look at how I'm going to put my $100 into the window.
00:04So I'm going to make a win wager on Grande.
00:07I just think because he's such a good price,
00:09I want to make sure that if Grande wins, I'm going to get something out of it.
00:13So for the $28 I put to win on him, it's because my other bet was $72.
00:19Normally, I'm like a $20 kind of better.
00:21Like $20 is usually one of the win wagers, like the amount of money I'll bet,
00:25especially when it's a horse like this.
00:26Like $20 to win on a horse that's 5-1, that's $100 right back.
00:31There's nothing wrong with that.
00:32So if you have Grande in the 20-1 range and we've got $28 to win on him,
00:39I think he could offer us really nice value.
00:41What I do want to also include in my wagers, Alexa,
00:46is the chance that if journalism wins, I can still win
00:49and I can have some of the other fun prices that I like underneath.
00:53You and I have a lot of similarities where we can hit the trifectas.
00:56Like we have a lot of same crossover numbers.
00:58Did we both hit?
00:59Did we have it?
01:00Yeah, we could both have, like if journalism wins,
01:03and then in the second spot, if it was Grande or Luxor Cafe,
01:07we would both have them.
01:10And then in the third spot, I threw in a lot of other horses.
01:13I threw in Cold Battle and Sandman.
01:16I threw in Final Gambit, like some of the deep closers
01:18who I think are going to be passing horses late.
01:21I also included Rodriguez in the second and the third spot
01:24because, Alexa, I think of all the speed horses,
01:28I feel like he could maybe be the one that hangs around down on the inside,
01:33like if he's sitting just behind them,
01:35or maybe if he's the fastest of them.
01:37So I want at least a couple or one or two of those speed horses
01:41just in case things happen.
01:43So I will include Rodriguez in the second and the third spots.
01:47And remember, just like with Alexas, I need the 8 or the 10 to finish first,
01:53and then you can move to the second spot in the second row of horses.
01:57Then you just need one of those horses to finish second,
02:00and you can move to the third row of horses.
02:02There's a chance this trifecta, if it were to come back with Grande winning,
02:08and then maybe in the second spot, Rodriguez or Luxor Cafe finishing second,
02:14and then in the third spot, if we got a horse like Final Gambit to get in the mix
02:21or Cole Battle, I mean, that's not even being silly.
02:26That's where you're talking about $20,000, $30,000, Alexa,
02:30for a bet just like this for $70.
02:32Yeah.
02:33No, absolutely.
02:34And Gina and I both had two horses in the first position.
02:37You can play as many horses as you want in all the positions.
02:41It's just the more you add, the more expensive your ticket becomes.
02:45So you try to usually kind of have a stronger opinion on top,
02:49and then I call it like a Christmas tree bet, right?
02:51Like your stronger opinions, and then you spread and spread,
02:53because those – I think third place is often harder to pick than first place
02:56in a race because, you know, there's so much contention there.
02:59But, yeah, trifectas are really a fun bet and a good way to make money.
03:03And even if you're someone who doesn't necessarily play these types of wagers
03:08all the time, the derby is the time to do it because it's like you're putting
03:12a little lottery ticket in, honestly, and you just want to make sure
03:15that if that's the race that you're correct about your opinion,
03:18it could be a life-changing score for you.
03:21So $100 for me, I'll play a trifecta and a win wager.
03:25Alexa has a couple different exactas and a trifecta.
03:28But the important part, how are you going to bet your $100
03:31or however much your bankroll is coming up on Saturday, Kentucky Derby Day?
03:36I'll be right back.
