00:00All right, let's talk about Saturday afternoon, the 12th race, the Derby,
00:04the run for the Roses.
00:06Give me your four-pack Shakur for this puppy at Churchill Downs.
00:12Yeah, when I sent in to the show that I was on earlier in the morning
00:15with you guys, I actually sent last night, I liked the number 10 Grande.
00:19In the morning, Grande got scratched.
00:21He was one of a couple before Rodriguez has also been scratched.
00:25So that makes the 21 Baeza come in.
00:28That one's in.
00:29We called a little bit of an audible.
00:31We had to go check, check.
00:31That's fine.
00:32I'm going to put the number 18 now, Sovereignty, on top.
00:35I really like the horse that beat Sovereignty last time out.
00:38His name was Tapan Street.
00:40He also would have been in the Derby, but he got hurt about a week ago.
00:43Sovereignty ran a great race in his first start of the year a couple months ago.
00:47And then after that, he didn't really need to win his next race.
00:51He ran a good second.
00:52I think it should set him up really well for this race.
00:54He is a closer, though.
00:55So don't be too worried if you see him like 10th, 12th early.
00:58He'll be in the middle or the back of the pack early on.
01:01He'll try to mow them all down late.
01:03That's who I have on top.
01:04I'll probably put a few bucks to win on him.
01:06But the other horses who I'd want to use, the 8, Journalism, he's the horse to beat.
01:10He's going to be the favorite.
01:11Right now, he's in about 3-1 or so.
01:14He comes in from Southern California.
01:16There's nothing really bad to say about what he's done.
01:19He just hasn't faced a big field like this.
01:21He's kind of been beaten up on horses that he's much better than.
01:24So now he has to step up, and things might get a little tougher for him.
01:28So we'll go 18 on top with the 8, Journalism.
01:31The other two that we'll use, the 7, Luxor Cafe, comes in from Japan.
01:36This horse has been really good in Japan, but we don't know how good the horses he's been defeating.
01:40Japanese have been doing a great job with their horse racing pedigree, with the way they build their runners,
01:45and they go all over the world and win big races.
01:48East Avenue is a horse who will be maybe the fastest early, and I think he can hang around for a little slice.
01:54So those are who we're using.
01:55And remember, you want to head to shop.drf.com for any extra help that you need,
02:01because that's the command center, the data, all the past performances,
02:05that big newspaper-looking thing that you see when you're at the track.
02:07That's the daily racing form.
