01:59It's remarkable that I survived some of that.
02:00It was tender and touching that they didn't know exactly how to reach you.
02:04Yeah.
02:04What that famous cast was unable to do, he reveals what drove the pain and how he's now trying to help others.
02:11Diane, right here tonight.
02:12From ABC News World Headquarters in New York, this is World News Tonight with David Muir.
02:24Good evening, and we have news coming in tonight on this major manhunt after a driver plowed into people, including children, outside a church preschool.
02:30Also, these dangerous storms moving in, but we begin tonight with President Trump and the first major shakeup, removing National Security Advisor Mike Waltz from his post.
02:39Waltz was the one who set up that group chat on the Signal app with the defense secretary and others about an imminent attack in Yemen.
02:46Waltz accidentally including a journalist in that chat group.
02:48And then at the president's cabinet meeting just 24 hours ago, Waltz was seen checking that same app on his phone and the names that were revealed.
02:56This morning, Waltz was seen arriving at the White House, the president informing him of the move, the president then announcing the change on social media this afternoon.
03:03And the president revealing Secretary of State Marco Rubio will now also serve as the National Security Advisor, at least temporarily.
03:10The first time someone has shared these two positions since the Nixon administration.
03:14And tonight, the role Mike Waltz might now have instead.
03:17ABC senior political correspondent Rachel Scott leading us off.
03:20She's at the White House tonight.
03:22Mr. President, why now on Mike Waltz?
03:25Tonight, President Trump announcing the first shakeup of his second term.
03:29His embattled National Security Advisor Mike Waltz is out.
03:33Have a good day.
03:33Cameras catching Waltz as he walked to the West Wing early this morning where the president delivered the news.
03:39Trump waiting until the 100th day of his presidency had passed to remove Waltz.
03:44But his departure comes as no surprise.
03:47The former Florida congressman embarrassed the White House and created a national security incident by starting a group chat among top administration officials on the commercial messaging app Signal to discuss sensitive details of military strikes in Yemen and included a reporter by mistake.
04:03At the time, President Trump said Waltz had learned his lesson.
04:06And probably he won't be using it again, at least not in the very near future.
04:11What do you think?
04:12That's true.
04:13I agree with you.
04:13Let's get everybody in the room.
04:15But yesterday at the president's cabinet meeting, cameras capturing Waltz, checking signal on his phone.
04:21Chats visible with Vice President J.D. Vance, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, too.
04:28At that meeting, Waltz lavishing praise on the president, who would boot him from his job just 24 hours later.
04:34It's an honor to serve you in this administration.
04:39And I think the world is far better, far safer for him.
04:43Today, the president announcing he would be moving Waltz to another role.
04:46Posting on social media, I will be nominating Mike Waltz to be the next United States ambassador to the United Nations.
04:52President Trump also saying Rubio would now become his national security advisor on an interim basis.
04:58That news came as a surprise to Rubio's spokesperson at the State Department when she was informed by reporters.
05:05It is clear that I just heard this from you.
05:09I had, I, this is, the magic.
05:12No heads up that this was coming.
05:13Well, I, I, the miracle of modern technology and the social media.
05:17So that is an exciting moment here.
05:22I think that, as I know, Secretary Rubio, this is a man who, as I think you all know, has worn several hats from day one.
05:30Rubio will now become the first person to serve simultaneously as Secretary of State and National Security Advisor since Henry Kissinger filled both roles for President Nixon.
05:39The question now, how Marco Rubio will balance these two roles?
05:44As Secretary of State, he is often traveling the world, meeting with foreign leaders.
05:48But national security advisors typically spend a lot of time here at the White House briefing the president on the most urgent threats to our nation and national security concerns, David.
05:57Obviously, two major roles now for one person.
05:59Rachel, while we have you, there's another developing headline tonight involving the president.
06:02A federal judge now ruling the administration unlawfully cited the Alien Enemies Act in deporting Venezuelan immigrants, some alleged gang members.
06:11Yes, David.
06:12Judge Fernando Rodriguez, who was appointed by President Trump, has now ruled and barred the Trump administration from using the centuries-old law to deport Venezuelan migrants from southern Texas, calling it unlawful.
06:25This ruling is limited in scope, but it is the furthest that any federal judge has gone so far, David.
06:30All right, Rachel Scott, leading us off tonight from the White House.
06:32Rachel, thank you.
06:33There's also breaking news just coming in, news of an arrest at this hour after a horrific scene at a church preschool, a driver plowing into people.
06:41Some of the victims were children.
06:42Police say the driver then ran off.
06:44But tonight, he is now in custody after warning the public all afternoon that he was armed and dangerous.
06:49ABC's Faith Abube is on the scene in South Carolina.
06:52Tonight, the horrific scene in South Carolina after authorities say a driver slammed a vehicle into multiple people, including children, before fleeing the scene armed with a knife.
07:04Police investigating this as a possible intentional act, launching a massive search, identifying the suspect as Justin Collin Adams.
07:12We're being invited to possibly two subjects that were run over.
07:14We have PD on scene trying to gather further.
07:16The horror unfolding outside of church preschool on Sullivan's Island around 1 p.m.
07:22Two children and one adult injured, first responders treating victims on the scene.
07:27There was no altercation.
07:28It was some children outside of what is known as a preschool, and the vehicle struck the children and the adult.
07:36Police launching drones, setting up checkpoints, checking every car in and out of the island.
07:42And late today, police taking the suspect into custody, saying they found him on a boat after an hours-long search.
07:50And David, as for the victims, the injured adult is still in the hospital, but in stable condition.
07:55A child was treated and released from that hospital.
07:58Another one was treated at the scene.
08:00David.
08:01Faith Abube there on the scene for us.
08:02Faith, thank you.
08:03Now to this dangerous storm system moving in tonight.
08:05A new round of storms yet again, stretching from Texas to Pennsylvania to New York.
08:09In fact, there are already tornado warnings in Texas as we're on the air tonight.
08:1330 million Americans in the path of these slow-moving storms tonight.
08:16Flooding rains and straight-line winds near Houston already.
08:19Two people killed in Oklahoma when floodwaters swept them away inside their vehicles.
08:24And in Blanchard, Oklahoma tonight, a community cut in two.
08:27The road was washed away.
08:29A giant crater stranding families there.
08:32And a utility pole exploding in Pittsburgh.
08:34In fact, nearly a quarter million people in Pennsylvania tonight without power.
08:37Lee Goldberg standing by to time this out.
08:39And Mireya Villarreal with the images coming in tonight.
08:43Powerful storms on the move tonight.
08:45Oh, my God!
08:47For the fourth night in a row, millions under threat from severe storms and record-breaking deadly flooding.
08:55Late today, a tornado reported on the ground north of Austin near Killeen, Texas.
09:00Overnight north of Houston, 70-mile-an-hour straight-line winds slamming Leona, Texas.
09:06North of Dallas, Freddie Chang's house in Carrollton scorched.
09:10I heard a loud boom.
09:14After a lightning strike set it on fire.
09:17South of Oklahoma City in Blanchard, catastrophic damage.
09:21It's been raining here for days.
09:22The ground is soaked.
09:23And it actually gave way right here on this county road.
09:26You can see a 30-foot drop down.
09:28And actually, families are on the other side.
09:30Ten of them stranded.
09:31One of them, John Tease, speaking with our affiliate KOCO by cell phone.
09:36They asked me to go ahead and park my truck across the road, which I parked my son's truck.
09:41You can see it down there.
09:43That way, no one actually only came through and got, you know, in trouble.
09:48Authorities in Oklahoma say two people were killed in the state overnight when their vehicles were swept away by floodwaters.
09:55David, right now, county leaders are racing to build a new road just about a mile from where I am standing down the road.
10:02Right now, they're trying to get to those families that have been stranded, especially with more severe weather, headed this way in just a few days.
10:09David?
10:10Yeah, that's really something tonight, Maria.
10:12Let's get right to Chief Meteorologist Lee Goldberg from our New York station, WABC, back with us again tonight.
10:16He's tracking it all for us.
10:17Highly?
10:17David, hi.
10:20Storm fatigue, Texas getting hit again.
10:22Active tornado warnings.
10:23We had a chaser confirm a large tornado near Briggs.
10:26It's headed south toward Andes.
10:28If you're in the track of the storm, take cover.
10:30We also have flood watches toward Oklahoma City.
10:32More storms coming out of Ohio are heading into power-compromised Pennsylvania.
10:3660-mile-per-hour gusts there.
10:38They're headed north.
10:39Tomorrow, that threat is pretty expansive.
10:41It goes all the way from Texas into the Tennessee Valley from, let's say, Austin all the way up to Nashville.
10:46And those areas, storms, they're going to expand eastward as we go into the weekend into the northeast.
10:51We're talking waves of showers, not a washout, but it starts a stretch of unsettled weather deep into next week.
10:56David?
10:56Lee Goldberg, we appreciate it as always.
10:58We turned now to the terrifying moment during a Major League Baseball game,
11:01the fan falling from the stands right onto the field in Pittsburgh.
11:05Stunning the players who witnessed it, many bowing their heads in prayer
11:08as emergency teams rushed into that fan who is now in critical condition tonight.
11:13Here's Will Reeve.
11:14Tonight, this video capturing the terrifying moment a man fell from his seat at Pittsburgh's PNC Park,
11:21landing on the field, now in critical condition.
11:24We've had one person fall out of the stands, 20-plus feet.
11:27We've got three medics working to assess and extract the patient now.
11:31The 20-plus foot fall coming in the seventh inning of the Pirates game against the Chicago Cubs.
11:36When you look at it, like, in slow-mo, he just looked like he was, like, jolting up because it was a huge play.
11:43Bobby Ketter unintentionally caught the moment on video.
11:46It happened so fast.
11:47And then, like, we looked over at the Pirates and they all had their hats off.
11:52And that's when I knew it was pretty serious.
11:55Players frantically trying to alert umpires and security.
11:59The game paused, players taking a knee as medical personnel attended to the man,
12:03taking the fan away on a gurney and rushing him to the hospital.
12:07Obviously a very, you know, scary moment.
12:09And, you know, just kind of, you can kind of see like everybody's taking a knee and just praying and hoping everything's okay.
12:15Today, Pirates chairman Bob Nutting stating,
12:18Pirates baseball is a community and our fans are like family.
12:22In times like these, we must come together, support one another, and keep him and his loved ones in our prayers.
12:28David, Pittsburgh Public Safety says the incident is being treated as accidental and the man remains in the hospital in critical condition.
12:36David.
12:36All right, Will Reeve tonight.
12:37Thank you, Will.
12:38There are also major developments tonight involving the case against Sean Diddy Combs.

12:48Here's Aaron Katursky.
12:50Tonight, Sean Combs makes it official.
12:52He's rejecting the government's offer to plead guilty and spare himself the possibility of a prolonged term in prison.
12:58When asked if he turned down the offer, Combs answered, yes, I do, Your Honor, as he stood in a baggy beige jail uniform.
13:05Terms were not disclosed, but prosecutors did say a plea could result in a shorter sentence for Combs than if he's convicted.
13:11The decision guarantees Combs will face trial beginning just four days from now that will test whether one of music's most prolific figures used his power, wealth, and fame to sexually exploit both women and men for decades.
13:25Combs has pleaded not guilty to racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution charges that accused him of coercing alleged victims into prolonged drug-fueled sexual activity that he called freak-offs and threatening them into silence.
13:38At trial, Combs will ditch the jail garb and wear ordinary clothes.
13:42As his lawyers argue, the evidence shows consenting adults being intimate in their own way.
13:47Jury selection begins Monday, David.
13:49Perspective jurors have already started answering written questions.
13:52If Combs is convicted, he faces what could amount to a life sentence.
13:56David.
13:57Aaron Katursky, who's following this case for us.
13:59Aaron, thank you.
13:59Now to the economy tonight of the impact of President Trump's tariffs.

15:57Departing flights are averaging 75-minute delays.
15:59Some arrivals running more than five hours behind schedule.

18:05The eccentric, neurotic, hilarious.
18:08Copernicus called and you are not the center of the universe.
18:13Dr. Frazier Crane.
18:14But all this time, we were laughing.
18:17We had no idea that the actor in real life was drowning in an undertow of sorrow.
18:24His colleagues on Cheers saw him battling cocaine and alcohol.
18:28It's remarkable that I survived some of that.
18:30It was tender and touching that they didn't know exactly how to reach you.
