Transcript
00:00How do you feel about results? Have you had a chance to stay showing on yet?
00:02Yes, I've had a chance to speak to people overnight and obviously today in the morning.
00:07Feeling very confident, as you would expect me to.
00:10And I'm looking forward to a compelling Conservative win here today.
00:14Okay. Who's the biggest threat, do you think?
00:17We've heard a couple of people saying about reform. Do you feel that as an analogy?
00:21Why don't we look overnight at the election results and such?
00:26We would be foolish not to think they're a threat. They've had some outstanding victories.
00:32But quite frankly, I think it will be a Conservative win across the country and local governments.
00:38And the casualties of the day will certainly be the Labour Party.
00:42Fantastic. Have you had a chance to get out of the doors?
00:45Absolutely. I've been knocking on doors and the support is quite positive on the doors.
00:50You know, that's got to convert into votes and we want our voters to come out.
00:54They've assured us that they are coming out.
00:56And the data that we gather shows that we've got a large majority of people coming out and voting for us.
01:02But, yeah, I'm not complacent. There is threats coming in from other parties.
01:05But we will be here, and as I said, to win it.
01:08So you're seriously, you sound really confident.
01:12I'm always confident. You know, I think, you know, it's a public...
01:15You sound very relaxed as well. Sorry, I'm interrupting.
01:17You sound very, very relaxed. I'm a relaxed type of person.
01:21There's no point getting stressed on things like this.
01:23OK, fair enough. Yeah.
01:25Are you looking forward to retirement? Well, semi-retirement, sorry.
01:27Semi-retirement, yes, absolutely.
01:29Going from 80 hours to about 40 a week will be a bit of a shock.
01:34But it will be a welcome shock.
01:37So I'm certainly looking forward to it.
01:40And looking forward to observing politics in North Northamptonshire from a distance.
01:44And you can follow it all on the North Northamptonshire website.
01:47Well, I'll be watching you on Twitter and certainly watching your colleagues
01:50and watching your newspaper and seeing what's going on.
