00:00Hello there, good evening, welcome to your latest Met Office forecast.
00:04High pressure still dominating our weather pattern, however, it's slightly shifted to the northeast of the UK,
00:11allowing a northerly airstream to push its way southwards, bringing colder air to many areas over the next 24 hours or so.
00:17But it does look like it starts to turn warmer again, especially towards the end of next week,
00:23but high pressure keeping it largely dry and settled.
00:26A settled end to the day for many of us, clear spells are turning quite chilly through this evening and overnight.
00:34That northerly breeze, though, picking up down the eastern side of the country,
00:37so frequent showers developing across eastern Scotland down into eastern England.
00:41Elsewhere dry with clear spells, though there will be some cloud across Northern Ireland into Wales, the Midlands, central southern England.
00:48And that's generally the dividing line between something less cold across the southwest of the UK
00:53and then something quite chilly across the north and northeast.
00:57A touch of frost possible in the countryside across parts of Scotland.
01:00Temperatures here down to close to freezing to start Sunday morning.
01:05But a bright start, plenty of sunny spells, though frequent showers down the east continuing.
01:10Showers falling as snow over the highest ground of Scotland.
01:13But showers hopefully becoming a little less frequent as we move through into the afternoon.
01:17But a lot of cloud across central and eastern parts of the UK.
01:21So sunshine a little limited here.
01:23Vests of the sunshine across the west, particularly Wales, the west country, parts of Northern Ireland and western Scotland.
01:29And the winds will be lighter here.
01:30So just feeling a little less cold, but chillier than it has done of late.
01:35Temperatures really struggling, particularly in the east, 9, 10 Celsius at the best.
01:39With that northerly breeze, it will feel quite chilly.
01:42Temperatures still in the southwest reaching around 16 or 17 Celsius.
01:45So a little nearer to average here, but below average across many northern and eastern parts.
01:51Through into the evening time, we can see there's still a risk of a few showers down in eastern parts of England.
01:55Particularly Lincolnshire down into East Anglia.
01:58One or two heavy showers possible.
01:59But elsewhere as we head overnight, lengthy clear skies developing once more.
02:04And a higher risk of frost for parts of Northern Ireland, Northern England, into Scotland.
02:08Especially in the countryside.
02:10Less so across the south and east where it remains quite breezy here.
02:13With one or two showers still possible.
02:16Temperatures here generally holding up above freezing, 5, 6, 7 Celsius.
02:20So still cooler than what we've seen over the past week or so.
02:23So a bright start for many on Monday morning.
02:25Showers across parts of Lincolnshire down into southeast England.
02:29Though these becoming confined to parts of Kent and then into the English Channel by the afternoon.
02:34With many places dry, with sunny spells.
02:36A bit more sunshine around across eastern and northern parts compared to Sunday.
02:40Best of the sunshine across much of mainland Scotland.
02:43And the wind's lighter here so feeling a little less chilly.
02:47Still breezy across eastern and southern parts of England in particular.
02:51That east coast still around 11 or 12 Celsius.
02:54Inland temperatures near average 15 or 16 Celsius.
