00:00Hello there, good morning, welcome to your latest Met Office forecast. High pressure still dominating our weather pattern, however, situated to the northeast of the UK, it's allowing a colder northerly airstream for many of us over the next 24 hours or so before the high pressure eventually starts drifting southwards again as we head through Monday and into Tuesday.
00:21So something a little colder compared to what we've been used to. We've got showers across northeastern parts of Scotland down the eastern side of England this morning, one or two of these on the heavy side, falling as snow over the high ground of Scotland for a time.
00:34But then as we go through into the afternoon, the showers becoming less frequent. Generally across central and eastern parts of the UK, it's a cloudier picture compared to Saturday, but there'll be some bright spells at times too.
00:45Best of the sunshine across northern and western parts of Scotland, Northern Ireland, down into Wales and the west country, but even here the cloud will come and go at times too.
00:54Still a northerly breeze making it feel quite chilly this afternoon. Temperatures really struggling across the north and east of the UK, 9 to 13 Celsius, but in the sunshine nearer to the mid-teens and around 16 or 17 Celsius towards the southwest of the UK.
01:10So down compared to what we've seen than of late. Into the evening time, showers in the east continue, particularly across parts of East Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, down into East Anglia, one or two of them heavy at times.
01:22But elsewhere we'll see clearing skies and that will allow temperatures to drop away. A touch of frost forming across parts of Scotland, Northern Ireland, Northern England in the countryside.
01:31Towns and cities generally falling to mid-single figures and still some showers across eastern and southeastern England, which will be there first thing on Monday morning.
01:41But these showers tend to fade away as we move through the day. Just one or two still across the far southeast into the afternoon.
01:48And then the day ahead, dominated by high pressure, so largely dry with some bright or sunny spells.
01:53A bit more in the way of sunshine across northern and eastern parts, unbroken for much of Scotland.
01:58With light winds here, it will feel less chilly compared to Sunday.
02:03And temperatures, well, still struggling a little bit on the east coast, just about reaching double figures here.
02:09Keen northeasterly breeze making it feel rather chilly across central southern parts of England.
02:14And temperatures for most nearer to average, particularly in the west, reaching around 15 or 16 Celsius.
02:20So high pressure, dominating, keeping it largely settled with a cooler northerly wind at the moment.
