00:00Former MCA Vice President Ti Lian Ke says the inconsistency shown by DAP on matters of principle is among the main reasons that MCA would never join forces with the party.
00:14He said DAP had sung different tunes at different times to suit their interests.
00:20Among them was the time the party decided to join forces with Dr. Mahathir Mohamad for the 2018 general election,
00:28despite having been fiercely critical of the former prime minister during his 22 years in office.
00:36Similarly, DAP was previously full of praise for past when the two parties were allies in the Pakatan-Rakya coalition,
00:45but it is now demonizing the Islamic party after going their separate ways.
00:51Ti said that DAP is now bending over backwards to accommodate UMNO when it previously vilified the party.
00:59Last week, Kampar MP Chong Zemin suggested MCA merge with DAP,
01:05an idea that was swiftly dismissed by DAP Secretary General Luke Siu-fok.
01:11Luke also said he didn't see the possibility of a merger happening,
01:15and that Chong's suggestion was a personal view and not that of the party.
