00:00Thank you to the to the gentlelady from California. Yes. So again, these are very simple, straightforward amendments like the chairman, like the chairman. I'll do it. I'll do it again. We'll do it quickly. You guys with no justification want to spend 250 million dollars on new cars for ICE in a time in which we're telling the American people we have to spend less in the time.
00:24And we're telling American people that we have a 36 trillion dollar deficit. We're going to go buy new cars, probably Tesla's. Maybe I don't know. It's unclear. But 250 million dollars. I just think 125 million. I'm not I'm not zeroing the line item out. There could be a need. But I think 125 million is enough. Again, I.T. OK, so they need new laptops. Right. They need new MacBooks. Not not a problem.
00:51Instead of 700 million on I.T. Why is 600 million not enough? You provide zero justification on why we need 700 million dollars new network I.T. computers, modems, flip phones. I have no idea what we're buying. There's no justification.
01:10So I say 600 million. That's a lot of money. 600 million is a lot of money to go to the Apple store. It's a lot. OK. And then again, lawyers. You guys are going to spend one point three billion dollars on lawyers.
01:25What is the justification for a one point three billion on lawyers? What's wrong? I'm giving you a billion dollars. You can't take yes for a billion.
01:34Hey, like how many lawyers can you even hire for a billion dollars? I don't even know the answer to that. But you want one point three billion. No justification why we need to spend that.
01:46And again, back to the bonuses. No justification. Eight hundred fifty eight billion. Why is it eight fifty eight? Eight fifty wasn't enough? Eight fifty eight billion on bonuses.
01:57OK, for people in ICE. I'm giving you five hundred million. We could save a billion dollars right now.
02:04Show the American people we're serious about cutting waste.
02:06Will the gentle lady yield to? You know, I would yield, even though I thought it was curious when you talked about the law firms, considering this administration is also asking all of these law firms to do all of this legal.
02:18Oh, they got tons of pro bono work. Oh, my God. Everyone's bending over backwards to give them pro bono work.
02:23But now we need one point three billion dollars. We spend less going to the moon.
02:29I yield to the congresswoman from Texas.
02:31I think I have some ideas about why we need all those lawyers, because when you start deporting, say, U.S. citizens and you leave them in random countries, it will cost you some money when you have to defend why and how somebody didn't get their due process.
02:48I think a billion dollars is a lot of money to go to El Salvador.
02:50Well, OK, I agree. But I wanted to ask you about that last part, because as we sit here and the hour is now 1040 p.m.
02:59We have been here all day and I am looking in the faces of these tired staffers that are sitting around.
03:06Are you guys getting a bonus? I don't see a bonus in here for you.
03:08So that's so that's that's the that's the part that I'm curious about.
03:11You said that on average, the average person would get a bonus of approximately forty four thousand dollars.
03:22Did you realize that in the house, these staffers that are working have to put all these boards together because you'd like to have your your boards and stuff?
03:32Our staffers. Do you know that the least amount that a staffer can be paid for the entire year?
03:40They're not in a bonus. But right here in the house, the people that are doing the hard work for each and every one of us is forty five thousand dollars.
03:48Forty five. That's what some people are going to get for doing what I put up on the video, breaking people's windows out, which is last time I checked.
03:57The criminal code was a crime. But nevertheless, why would we be rewarding people that are going and snatching children and they are snatching the wrong children half the time?
04:08And then the children that they are snatching, they probably shouldn't be snatching them either.
04:12And then we got people that are literally busting people's windows out.
04:17Another reason they need the lawyers. We've got them doing all of that.
04:22And literally, they're going to get a bonus that is equivalent to what the lowest paid staffers in the house make.
04:29Make that make sense for me. And I'll yield.
04:32Gentle lady yields. Whoever had the time yields back.
04:38The question occurs on the four amendments offered in.
04:41Good follow.
04:41Bye.
04:42Bye.
05:08Bye.
