Fly tippers in Wolverhampton are warned to expect consequences if they break the law.

00:00If we have a fly tip involving a vehicle, particularly when they're not registered or for serious offences,
00:07if we come across that vehicle we will seize it. In this case, efforts to contact the registered keeper were unsuccessful.
00:15We were unable to locate the vehicle at the registered keeper's address from an incident that happened last July.
00:21We then located the vehicle in February this year in a different area of Wolverhampton
00:26and we seized that promptly and the investigation is ongoing.
00:30Please dispose of your waste properly. If you're a business, you should be disposing of it and keeping waste transfer notes from the place you take it to.
00:39If you're a household, take your waste to the tip, use the council's bulky waste collection service or put things in your domestic household bins.
00:47There is no excuse for fly tipping in the city.
00:50Fly tipping is a scourge on our beautiful countryside, our beautiful cities, but it's just certain individuals who think they can get away with it.
00:58But you've seen today what happens. Fly tipping is on the rise. I think it's risen by 6% across the country.
01:05But in Wolverhampton, it's actually reduced. That's because we've got such a good team on top of this.
01:11The Prime Minister talked about vehicles being crushed and using AI and drones.
01:17But I can happily say Wolverhampton is streets ahead of this because we're already doing it.
01:23We're using the drone to successfully catch fly tipping.
01:27We are using a very successful scheme called Shopper Tipper, where if you see anybody fly tipping, you can quite easily contact the council anonymously.
01:39And if we're successful in the prosecution, you receive a £100 voucher to spend in Wolverhampton.
