00:00Oh, spectacular! Oh, what a shot! I'm going into time!
00:11Jalen Brunson and the Knicks, a perfect 4-0 on the road after a stunning Game 1 comeback.
00:18And now it's bounce-back mode for Jason Tatum and the reigning champs.
00:23Knicks and Celtics, Game 2 on TNT.
00:30Home team hasn't won yet in the conference semis.
00:43Boston and OKC trying to change that in a pair of Game 2s.
00:48It's TNT NBA tip-off presented by CarMax, or as we like to call it, saving the world through basketball.
00:55From Studio J in Atlanta, Ernie Johnson, Shaquille O'Neal. How you doing, Kuh?
01:02What's up, Kuh?
01:04Kenny the Jetsmith and Charles Barkley.
01:08What up, Kuh?
01:09Kuh.
01:09No, it's Kuh.
01:11He ain't hip.
01:11Come on, get it right.
01:13He's not hip enough.
01:14You don't really see that.
01:15I've been...
01:16C-U-H.
01:16These have been some...
01:18We've had some great games so far in the playoffs.
01:21We've had 48 games at this point, and nearly a third of them have been decided by three points or less.
01:28Fifteen games decided by three points or less.
01:31Last year in the postseason, the entire postseason, we had 13, and we've already had 15 decided by three or less.
01:38I thought you might enjoy that, just a little perspective on all these close games we've been seeing.
01:42But obviously you don't care.
01:44So let's take a look at tonight's doubleheader schedule.
01:49Knicks and Celtics, top of the hour.
01:52Nuggets and Thunder, around 9.30 Eastern, playing game two of that series.
02:00Let's take a look at the CarMax never settle, shall we?
02:05So, the Celtics had been 58-0 in the playoffs, went up by 16 at the half, but that went by the boards.
02:17As Alex adds, never settle for threes.
02:2145 missed by the Celtics.
02:24And they took a record 60 threes in game one.
02:29You see a lot of the other facts and figures there.
02:32Here's Joe Mazzula, questioned about the threes.
02:36The next shot, I think, over 50% from three in the second half there.
02:39Were they true from three in the second half?
02:41I think over 50%.
02:43So they made them?
02:45Yes.
02:45Man, what a novel idea.
02:47Such a cool duality of your question to where I'm getting asked all the ones that we missed.
02:52And you come in and start with, they shot 50% in the second half.
02:56And I'm like, oh, man.
02:57The duality of that question is just really cool to talk about.
03:00We start the press conference off by saying, you know, you took all these and you missed them.
03:03And then you say, they shot 50% in the second half from three.
03:06Yeah, you got to make them.
03:07Orange and blue skies, you're looking at the second half of game one.
03:15And, you know, the Knicks shooting better than 50% from three.
03:19And coming back from a 20-point deficit to win.
03:26Well, en route to their 18th championship last year, the Celtics knocked out the Heat, the Cavs, the Pacers, and the Mavs,
03:32and never trailed in a series.
03:33But they do now, after blowing that 20-point lead and missing more threes than the Knicks took.
03:39Game two comes your way at the top of the hour.
03:41We check in right now with Allie LaForce.
03:44Allie, good to see you again.
03:46It's been a while.
03:47It's so great to be back with you, EJ.
03:49And as you alluded to, I mean, this entire second round of the playoffs has been shocking and historic.
03:54And our game one was no different.
03:56You mentioned the 45 missed threes from Boston.
03:59That was certainly the talk of game one.
04:00As we talked to Coach Mazzula just moments ago,
04:03he said, don't forget, we got 10 more shots up than the Knicks.
04:07So we won the shot margin.
04:08And he's been saying that's critical in any series this entire time.
04:12It's not unprecedented, either, that they take this many threes.
04:15I mean, look at opening night of the NBA against the Knicks, ironically.
04:19Boston attempted 61 threes.
04:20And they made nearly half.
04:21That was the difference.
04:22So this past Monday, attempted 60 but made just 15.
04:26There was no reprimanding here on the Boston side.
04:29This has been their game plan all along.
04:30This is how they won a championship.
04:33Coach Mazzula and Derek White did tell me, though, that they want to continue to emphasize the process,
04:37meaning making the right basketball play in the moment, even if that means getting to the rim
04:41and also guarding with better detail on the defensive end.
04:45As for the Knicks, Coach Tibbs told me,
04:46we have to challenge their threes and their ability off the dribble,
04:49and the rebounding is critical.
04:51They are a great offensive rebounding team.
04:53It requires the second and the third efforts and the correct initial reads.
04:57This next game, we don't change how we approach it.
05:00We have to be disciplined with our toughness and our fundamentals.
05:03It was funny yesterday.
05:04Josh Hart mentioned that he was playing angry in the second half
05:07because at halftime, he may have checked Twitter and he saw a tweet that this game was over
05:12because they were down 20.
05:14He called that reporter the MVP, sarcastically, which might be true.
05:17But he reminded us that the Knicks are always going to fight,
05:19that they are not intimidated by a team, an arena, or a score.
05:23Now, important update, there were two players on the Celtic side that left the game in Game 1.
05:28Chris Tapps-Corzingis was one of them.
05:30He is playing tonight.
05:31He's dealing with an issue with his breathing and his stamina.
05:34The team is calling it an illness, but he missed eight games last month
05:38because of an upper respiratory, and he hasn't been able to fully recover from that.
05:42But they don't anticipate any restrictions with him tonight.
05:45So he is going to play.
05:46He's not going to start.
05:47He's going to come off of the bench.
05:48And then the second update is Sam Hauser, who landed awkwardly,
05:51guarding a three on his right ankle.
05:54He is out for tonight's game.
05:55E.J.?
05:56Allie LaForce, great information as always.
05:59Appreciate you.
06:00Enjoy the game.
06:02Is it – I guess that's the easy place to start is the three-point situation
06:06with all they took and all they missed.
06:08But here's – look, they took 48 a game in the regular season.
06:11That was knocked down to 31 against Orlando in the first round,
06:14and they jacked up 60 in Game 1.
06:17And the thing about it, Shaq, as I continue to talk and talk and talk here
06:21and nobody's heard from you guys,
06:23they had 20 free-throw attempts in the first half and only six in the second half.
06:28Boston has always been the tale of two teams.
06:30Chuck has said this many times, when they're shooting a three-ball very well,
06:33they're hard to beat.
06:34But when they're not shooting a three-ball very well, they're easy to beat.
06:37You know, my problem with Boston and all those guys is that,
06:40especially in the playoff situation, as a champion,
06:43you should know that if my shot is off, it's time to do something else.
06:46You know, a record, you know, of shooting 63s and, you know, missing 45,
06:53you should know, especially when the Knicks are coming back,
06:56that, hey, my shot is off, it's time to do something else.
06:58I know what they're saying.
06:59We miss shots.
07:00We miss shots.
07:01We miss shots.
07:02But the fact of the matter is that New York fought back.
07:05They played the right way.
07:06They mixed it up.
07:07They gave it to the closer at the end of the game.
07:09Who was hitting the shots that was able to lose?
07:11But my question is, how are you going to respond tonight?
07:14If you start missing threes, are you going to keep jacking them up
07:17and saying, hey, we're the champs?
07:18Are you going to mix it up?
07:21Are you going to let the game come to you and do certain things to win the game?
07:24Or are you going to just stick with the style of we're shooting 63s?
07:27Like, I hate when coaches say, oh, we're going to shoot 53s again.
07:31You should always let the game dictate how you play the game.
07:34Don't come before the game and say, I'm going to shoot this mean threes.
07:37Do you think they got too comfortable?
07:39They're up 20.
07:40They're up 75, 55.
07:41And it was like, we've beaten these guys every time.
07:44We're up 20 here.
07:45This is going to be cake.
07:48Well, I think that's part of it.
07:51But the one thing I haven't heard any Celtic or any, you know, I love Coach Mazzoula.
07:56I think what he did and how he got that team to win a championship
07:59and his demeanor is the way a coach should be.
08:03But I haven't heard anyone say, no, we missed good threes.
08:07We missed makeable threes.
08:08We missed the threes we wanted to take.
08:10So, that separates if you take 45.
08:15Are they the shots you want?
08:17No.
08:18I thought they were rushed.
08:19I thought they were out of context at times.
08:22And I thought they were early in the shot clock.
08:25So, no.
08:26I don't think that those 45 threes that they missed were makeable threes.
08:30That would be the first part.
08:32And then the second part is, if our three isn't working, here's our secondary game plan.
08:37What is that?
08:38So, those are the two things I have not heard.
08:40And the third is, how are you going to guard the Brunson burner?
08:44The guy, when it gets down to the last three minutes of the game, he is on fire.
08:49And how do you get the ball out of his hands?
08:51Those are the three things I have not heard right now.
08:55Well, it's interesting to me.
08:56Today's players and coaches, I just think they're stupid.
09:00Like, yeah, I know.
09:01I'm not trying to hold on to my past.
09:03I know it's a three-point shooting game.
09:04It's a three-point shooting lead.
09:06But, if you're not making them, you've got to have a plan B.
09:10And that's my – then you shoot 20 shots and 19 of them threes.
09:15Clearly, you're missing because you had a 20-point lead, and it goes down to zero, and you lose the game.
09:20You know, I'm not trying to hold on to me and Shaq's past.
09:23We want to pass the ball down low.
09:24But if you're missing, you should have a plan B.
09:28Yeah, of course, if you make them, it's all roses and sunshine.
09:32But you've got to have a plan B.
09:34But if you're up 20, and you shoot 19 out of 20 threes, and clearly you're missing,
09:40and you don't say, like, maybe we should probably take it to the basket one time.
09:44Yeah.
09:44And it gets back to the free-throw attempts.
09:46Yes.
09:47I like –
09:48Six free-throws in the second half.
09:48Come on, man.
09:49If you've got a 20-point lead, and you take 20 shots and 19 of them are threes,
09:54and clearly you're missing, and you're like, no, let's just keep jacking them up.
09:59That's just stupid.
10:00That's stupid playing and stupid coaching.
10:02But everybody wants to cover their ass today.
10:05They're like, that's the way we play.
10:07Yeah, we know that's the way you play.
10:09But if you're missing, maybe we should try something else.
10:13Not only those records with the threes and the missed threes,
10:16but in terms of that 16-point halftime advantage for the Celtics,
10:22they had never blown a lead like that in a playoff game.
10:25The Knicks had never overcome a lead of 16 or more to win a playoff game.
10:30They will play game two here at the top of the hour on TNT.
10:35When we come back, we'll have an update on Steph
10:37and also look ahead to game two of our double dip, the Nuggets and the Thunder.
10:42We welcome you back.
10:59Golden State took game one at Minnesota last night,
11:02but we are not going to be seeing Stephen Curry for a while.
11:05Here's Lauren Jabara with the latest.
11:07The Warriors just wrapped up their media availability here in Minnesota
11:12and all eyes are on Steph Curry.
11:14We saw him grab his left hamstring during the second quarter
11:17of Tuesday night's game against the Timberwolves.
11:19He left the game, did not return.
11:21MRI this morning confirmed that diagnosis.
11:23A grade one left hamstring strain for Steph Curry.
11:27He's going to be reevaluated in a week.
11:28We heard from Steve Kerr.
11:30He said they're going to lean heavily on their defense,
11:32which he called the best in the league.
11:34That's been proven over the last couple of months
11:36based on defensive efficiency, but also based on our confidence
11:40and Draymond behind the play and Jimmy.
11:42We can rely on our defense and we have to generate offense off of our D
11:48and then we've got to figure out different ways to attack without Steph.
11:52I mean, every year playoffs are about adapting,
11:55whether it's a game plan or an injury or a lineup.
11:59So we just have to adapt and we've done this before
12:02and we're confident we can do this again.
12:06So he's going to be reevaluated in a week,
12:09which would be game five next Wednesday.
12:13Now that the pressure switches to Minnesota,
12:16they've got to get this thing back to 2-2.
12:19Obviously, you know, they've got to find a way to get the home court back.
12:23And probably the toughest thing for Steph,
12:26it's probably going to be his conditioning.
12:28Because a week?
12:30Dude, the way he runs around,
12:33because he probably ain't going to be able to do any conditioning
12:34with the hamstring, clearly.
12:36But the amount of energy he uses during the game,
12:40because he's, you know, other than Reggie Miller and guys like that,
12:43I've never seen a guy work harder without the ball.
12:46So it's going to be interesting.
12:48But Minnesota's got to get this thing back.
12:50They've got to get the home court back.
12:52When you're the guy, like Steph is,
12:58how do you move on from this?
13:03How do you stay confident?
13:05How do you say, yeah, we lead this series and we can overcome this?
13:10You talk to the other guy, and the other guy being Jimmy,
13:13you say, Jimmy, I know you took a back seat to me,
13:15but you're the guy now.
13:17I'm going to need you to be super aggressive.
13:18I'm going to need you to score a lot.
13:19I'm going to need you to continue to do what you do on defense.
13:22And everybody else has to step up.
13:24If they win that game, the next game they'll be up 2-0.
13:28He could possibly take two games off.
13:29So, you know, you have to be very delicate with the hamstrings.
13:32I know they say he's going to be re-evaluated in a week,
13:36but I agree with Chuck.
13:37No conditioning, no working out.
13:38Then trying to come back and go full speed,
13:41he could even tear it even more.
13:42What do you think, Chet?
13:43I think the biggest thing, you know,
13:45from the Golden State Warriors standpoint
13:47is the way your shots are coming.
13:49If they're a three-point shooting team,
13:52Buddy Hill, you know, and go down the list.
13:57But with Steph in the game, it's a rhythm shot.
14:00When he's not in the game, it'll be a spot shot.
14:03So, meaning Jimmy Butler get the ball,
14:06he does a lot posting.
14:07So, now you're just waiting,
14:08and you'll become a spot shooter.
14:10But with Steph, it's constant movement,
14:12and you become a rhythm shooter.
14:14So, that's what you probably over the next couple of games,
14:17if you're just going back into the gym as a shooter,
14:22you would go, okay, I got to just get that rhythm of spot shooting more
14:26because Steph's not in the game to create that pace.
14:28And they're going to struggle without Steph
14:29because they can't play at a pace, first and foremost.
14:34They can't play at pace.
14:35Steph is probably the best in the league,
14:37and Halliburton's terrific too.
14:38They play at his pace.
14:40But the second thing is these guys ain't going to have all that space
14:43because you know how Houston was cheating,
14:45got Buddy Hill wide open.
14:47He gets Jimmy floor space.
14:49That's gone now.
14:50So, it's going to be very interesting how they score enough points
14:53against Minnesota.
14:55We've got the next game in that series tomorrow night right here on TNT.
14:58Meantime, the nightcap tonight, Denver and OKC.
15:01Something we talked about the other night
15:03we want to spend a little more time with on this
15:06is Mark Dagnall's use of timeouts
15:10and with a three-point lead
15:12and how quickly those were happening.
15:16Well, I just felt that, you know,
15:18I think it's always for me just my personal preference.
15:21This is all personal preference.
15:22I think it's nine seconds and under.
15:24And before it got to nine seconds,
15:26see, hold on, that's the biggest play in the game
15:28nobody's talking about.
15:30Hold it.
15:30Pause it right there for a second.
15:32Because he didn't have to score.
15:34He did not have to take that layup.
15:36What should he have done?
15:38Just dribbled it out?
15:39He couldn't have dribbled out the clock.
15:41Wait, what do you mean?
15:41It's 11 seconds ago?
15:42Well, he's got Browns right behind him.
15:45No, but he could have ran some more time off the clock.
15:47Yeah, he could have a couple seconds, maybe.
15:48Well, I think, he said,
15:51I'd rather have a dunk than two free throws.
15:53Yeah.
15:55I'm not saying it's a bad play,
15:56but if he just dribbled that clock out.
15:59Yeah, again, I just feel that
16:01the quickness of what Oklahoma City
16:05filed allowed so much time.
16:08We got 10 seconds on the clock
16:10here to win the game.
16:12And that is a lot of time.
16:14And see, Freeze, right there,
16:17it's still 2.8 seconds to go.
16:19Even if they missed the free throw,
16:21I mean, the three-point shot,
16:23they would have still had time to tip it in.
16:25They still would have had the time to foul again
16:27and get another possible opportunity.
16:29But you have so many going to miss them
16:31two free throws.
16:32No, I'm saying, if Aaron Gordon misses that shot,
16:36it's still three seconds left.
16:38Still enough time for them to foul.
16:39But none of that wouldn't matter
16:41if he didn't miss the two free throws.
16:43Exactly.
16:44No, I'm saying that they went so early
16:46that gave so much time on the clock.
16:48I could see the foul on Joker
16:51coming pretty quick
16:53because you don't want him,
16:54you don't want him shooting the three.
16:57And they got the ball on that end.
16:59The one on Gordon in the backcourt,
17:02I think you could have made them eat some more time.
17:06I just said 12 seconds.
17:07You could have met.
17:08I thought it was multiple times.
17:10I think 12 seconds to go is four possessions in my head.
17:14You know, four possessions.
17:16And so I'm trying to make it two possessions.
17:20And that's it.
17:21I just want two.
17:22You have to do two astronomical things to happen
17:25for us to lose this game.
17:27They really didn't do anything astronomical
17:29other than we missed two free throws down the stretch.
17:32You can talk about a lot of factors of why he lost the game.
17:35But I speak from personal experience.
17:38Got to hit those two free throws.
17:40Because they would have fouled again
17:41and we'd be having a different conversation.
17:43You got to hit those two free throws.
17:44That's the thing.
17:46But if you make the two free throws.
17:47If you make the two free throws, they're going to fire you again.
17:49And you're going to have a one-point lead and a ball.
17:51They're going to have to try to make the second free throw.
17:53You had to make eight.
17:54You're giving yourself to make eight free throws,
17:57which doesn't happen.
17:58You're not going to make eight free throws down the stretch.
18:01Most teams don't.
18:02He's a shooter.
18:03When you extend it to four possessions, now you have eight.
18:08The best shooters in the world is free throws.
18:10It was just a perfect storm.
18:12That's not perfect.
18:14That's an imperfect storm in my opinion.
18:15This is my opinion.
18:17Denver, by the way, won seven straight playoff series
18:20when they take game one.
18:21And that brings us to game two.
18:23And what do you see from the OKC side?
18:26Jalen's got to play better.
18:28He didn't play well in game one.
18:30To me, because he's the second best player on the team,
18:33in my opinion.
18:35He did not play well up to his capabilities.
18:38The Joker, he's,
18:40Hardenstein's going to have to probably play him more.
18:43Yeah, he was five for 20.
18:44That's not going to get it done.
18:46He's a hell of a player.
18:48But he got to be the second best player on Oklahoma City.
18:52He had a tough first game.
18:55But he just got to play better, plain and simple.
18:57I mean, you know, I always say this, do it March bad.
19:00Everybody talk about strategy and all that.
19:02No, no, no.
19:03Your best player's got to play well.
19:05He can't go five for 20 and OKC win.
19:09OKC did.
19:11There was one thing that jumps out.
19:13Look, this is a team that'll turn you over,
19:15and they don't turn you, and they don't turn it over.
19:18And points off turnover is always a big advantage.
19:20It was 23-5 for the Thunder in the opener.
19:22But rebounding, try 63-43 in favor of Denver.
19:30Yeah, listen, Denver played hard.
19:32You know, they played well.
19:33OKC had a lot of time off, so we blame the first game on this.
19:38You know, like I said, a lot of point factors on why they lost.
19:41You know, Chuck says let the Joker score.
19:43I want the Joker to score.
19:45I want him to be dominant.
19:46I want him to put up more high points.
19:47They give everybody else some room once OKC starts to panic.
19:51But this guy right here played well.
19:53Aaron Gordon played well.
19:54They kept fighting.
19:55When OKC gets that big lead, they've got to put this team away.
19:58Because if you've got Joker being played single coverage,
20:01they can always come back.
20:03And he's the kind of guy, Joker, the way he approaches the game, too.
20:06There's no rest.
20:08There's no satisfaction.
20:09I don't think if you're looking at, oh, this game, too,
20:12maybe an Oklahoma City blowout.
20:14I don't know about it with him and how he's driven.
20:19Ernie, he's an anomaly.
20:20He's the one of the few guys in the league that's coming to this position
20:25where you say, I don't know if playing him single coverage
20:29is better than doubling him.
20:31I don't really know.
20:32Because the only one in the modern that I can remember at times
20:35was Akeem Olajuwon.
20:37You want to play him single coverage,
20:38he is good enough to beat you single coverage.
20:41You want to double him, OK, give Sam Cassell, Mario Lee,
20:45and Robert Ory and all of those guys,
20:47give us the threes.
20:50Like, so, you can't leave Murray.
20:52You can't leave Porter.
20:53You can't leave Gordon.
20:55So he – I know, Chuck, you said let him –
20:58I don't know if he can –
21:01I think he can still beat you if you play him single coverage
21:04because he does so many things on the rebounding end
21:07and he still brings the ball up after he rebounds on the defensive end.
21:11So he becomes the point forward from a different position.
21:15He is the most unguardable player in the NBA.
21:18And I disagree with that because –
21:19You don't think he's unguardable?
21:20He had 42 points the other night and they should have lost the game.
21:24So the reason they lost the game was because the Gordon got off.
21:28That was the big difference in the game.
21:30But Joker got his 42 and they still had to lead with less –
21:3310 seconds to go.
21:35He's great.
21:36But when those other guys score, that's the difference in the Nuggets
21:39when Jamal and Aaron Gordon play well.
21:42OKC hasn't lost consecutive games at home all season long.
21:46They'll try to avoid that tonight and tie the series at a game apiece.
21:51Back to wrap things up in just a second.
21:55For 42 and 22 the other night, game one of the 2001 finals,
22:01the guy sitting next to me had 44 and 20.
22:04Box out.
22:05I didn't have 44 and 20.
22:08The guy on the other side of the game.
22:09Box out, Matt Geiger.
22:11I did not plan that game.
22:12Ooh, Dikemba, you get your hand.
22:14Rest in peace.
22:15Throwing your bone here, man.
22:16Just throwing – showing some of your greatest hits.
22:21Boy, that's a big ugly fellow right there, America.

22:45Come on, Kenny.
22:46These are easy.
22:47This is easy, right?
22:48Brunson for 25.
22:49Cat with 15.
22:52Jason ain't getting 30.
22:53Come on, baby.
22:54This is awesome.
22:54Jason Tatum with 30.
22:55That should be a lot.
22:56Which one are you worried about?
22:58Tatum.
22:58Tatum.
22:59That should be a lot.
22:59That should be a lot.
23:00That should be a lot.
23:02You're right.
23:02He's going to have more than 30.
23:04Okay.
23:04There you go.
23:05Good luck to you, Chuckster.
23:08You've reverted back to your form from the regular season.
23:10Parzingas.
23:13Catman.
23:15Jalen Brown.
23:16Jalen Brown.
23:18Hey, that's a bad man.
23:24Brunson with a three.
23:26Oh, here they come.
23:28Led by Mr. Clutch himself.
23:31What a comeback.
23:33And a game one win for New York.
23:36We're going to fight for each other every possession.
23:38Forty-five missed threes by the Celtics.
23:42When their superpower is not working, they become regular.
23:45We just settled.
23:46We'll make adjustments.
23:47It's one win, and then understand that we have to reset.
23:50Obviously, it's things we're looking forward to game two.
23:56Good evening, everyone from Boston.
23:58We're the defending champions.
24:00Lost game one to the rivals.
24:03No home team has won yet in the second round of these playoffs,
24:06including all three 60-win teams.
24:10Two of them play tonight here on TNT in our playoff doubleheader.
24:15The NBA playoffs on TNT's second round, presented by Winstop.
24:21The three-seed New York Knicks stunned the two-seed Boston Celtics in game one
24:27for their first win over the champs this season.
24:30The winner here advances to the Eastern Conference Finals
24:33against either Indiana or Cleveland with the Pacers up two games to none
24:38over the number one Eastern Conference seed Cavs.
24:43Hi, everyone.
24:44With the Hall of Famer Reggie Miller, we'll check in with Ali LaForest in just a second.
24:48Kevin Harlan, how can the Knicks make it a 2-0 lead?
24:52Well, first of all, it's going to take another great effort.
24:55Let's talk about this.
24:56The OG, he got the comeback started in the third with those back-to-back threes.
25:02How about Mr. Clutch, Jalen Brunson?
25:05He was his usual dominant self in the fourth with 11 points.
25:09And Mr. Ironman, Mikael Bridges, how about in overtime?
25:13Two huge steals and a dagger three.
25:16As for Boston, we've all heard the numbers over the last 48 hours
25:20about the Celtics' three-point shooting.
25:23And Boston's coach, Joe Mazzula, he's somewhat doubled down.
25:26Hey, we want a championship with this kind of volume numbers.
25:31And, Ali, I'm sure the Celtics, they would love to have Porzingis for more than 13 minutes.
25:37Exactly.
25:38When he exited game one, the team called it an illness.
25:40We found out a little bit more that it was his problem with his stamina
25:43and his breathing as he continues to recover from an upper respiratory illness.
25:46He is going to play tonight.
25:47He's going to come off the bench.
25:49Sam Hauser, however, who landed awkwardly on his right ankle defending a three,
25:53will not be playing tonight.
25:55Ali, we thank you very much.
25:56Let's take a look at our lineups tonight here for game two.
26:00Celtics-Knicks.
26:02And a couple guys you're going to watch early.
26:04Well, number one, Carl Anthony Towns.
26:06Can he stay on the floor?
26:07Again, got into foul trouble in game one.
26:10The last three ballgames he's been in.
26:13In the teens, in terms of scoring, he's got to do a better job of staying on the floor, Kevin.
26:23Reggie the Knicks have won four consecutive road playoff games.
26:28Three at Detroit, one here Monday.
26:30They are on a roll away from the Garden.
26:33And even dating back to my times of going against these New York Knicks,
26:37they always play well on the road.
26:40But it's something about getting away from MSG when this team becomes those band of brothers
26:45and really locks in.
26:48Officiating crew tonight, the crew chief is James Capers.
26:51His 195th playoff game, a referee, Kevin Scott.
26:54Umpire, Mark Lindsey.
26:56Ray Acosta is the ultimate.
26:58Mitchell Urban is in the replay center.
27:00And here we go with game two, New York and Boston.
27:07Hart was sensational in game one.
27:1029 points for the guy with the ball right here, Jalen Brunson.
27:15In the corner, Hart.
27:17And quickly on Amir will be Horford.
27:20Shot clock at three.
27:21Hart with it on a spin.
27:23And an OB.
27:24Step back three.
27:26Shot is away and got it.
27:27What a win it again for New York.
27:30Saw a lot of that in that third quarter from OG.
27:34Step back three.
27:35Shot clock running down.
27:36Nice start here for New York.
27:39It's Holiday inside.
27:40He played well after missing the previous three games.
27:43Sneaks went up and in around Brunson.
27:45He had had a hamstring issue in that series against Orlando.
27:50Came back and played very well in game one for the Celtics.
27:55Wouldn't be surprised tonight.
27:57Offensively, Drew Holiday has a bigger role.
28:00Especially when Brunson is guarding him.
28:02Here comes the Iron Man.
28:04Bridges inside.
28:05His reverse will fall off.
28:07It's Tatum with the rebound.
28:09Wide on the wing.
28:10Hit five threes in game one.
28:14And Tatum will go to Brown.
28:16He was one of ten from three.
28:18Dueling right here with Animal Day.
28:22Tatum's got a hand on it.
28:24New shot clock.
28:25On the wing.
28:26Holiday three.
28:27It's a three.
28:29And the rebound kicked and Buster looking for it.
28:32He's from Horford.
28:33No.
28:35It's Bridges galloping the other way by Brown.
28:38Then fumbles it away.
28:39And a turnover by New York.
28:43Dating back to OG shot here.
28:45Look at the shot clock on the backboard.
28:48Expired and the ball's still in his hand.
28:51You wonder if the official's going to go review this.
28:53They definitely will.
28:54Yep, they definitely will.
28:56Brown with the three.
28:57And a rebound by Carl Anthony Towns.
29:00Who continues to put up good rebounding numbers.
29:03Three consecutive double-doubles for Towns.
29:05Brunson inside.
29:07And pushing on White.
29:08And a rebound by Tatum.
29:11Tatum had 16 rebounds in game one.
29:14White will veer into the pit.
29:17Another miss.
29:18Another rebound by Carl Anthony Towns.
29:24Bridges, who played 51 of the 53 minutes in game one.
29:28And another rebound for Tatum.
29:30So both teams are staggering here out of the block.
29:34Boston 1 of 7.
29:35New York 1 of 4.
29:37It's Brown on the wing.
29:40Oh, coming in.
29:41Adonobi just pickpockets him.
29:43He'll take it the other way.
29:45And he goes into Horfolk.
29:46Can't convert on the transition.
29:49Both teams having a hard time putting it in.
29:51The hesitation by White.
29:53Tatum will put up a three.
29:55Way off.
29:55Towns rebound.
29:56Yeah, but you feel how this crowd is almost sighing every time the Celtics take a three.
30:04Boston is 0 of 4 to start from three.
30:08The handle by Brunson.
30:10The defense by Horfolk.
30:12Outside Bridges.
30:14Inside Carl Anthony Towns.
30:16Tatum picked up a foul with five on the shot clock.
30:19And just a little more than nine minutes gone.
30:22And Tatum picks up his first.
30:26A more three minutes gone here in the first quarter with a look at Tom Thibodeau.
30:30Fifth year.
30:31Who passed Pat Riley and wins for the New York Knicks as a head coach earlier this season.
30:38Raised in Connecticut.
30:39Raised the Knicks fan.
30:40Played at Salem State.
30:42They go inside.
30:43Holiday got it.
30:44And he was all alone underneath.
30:45Yeah, I like the call here, especially offensively.
30:49Have Holiday put pressure and try to wear down Jalen Brunson.
30:55The Knicks winning game one by three in overtime.
31:02And a Brunson three with Holiday defending.
31:05Another Tatum rebound.
31:06Court link pass.
31:07Holiday there.
31:08Bumped by Brunson.
31:09Foul called on Jalen Brunson.
31:12Excellent one-on-one defense at one end by Holiday on Brunson to force that tough three.
31:19And then how about the outlet by Tatum finding a streaking Holiday.
31:23I think they're going to go to the monitor and see if this is a clear path on Brunson.
31:30The previous play would be with you for clear pass time.
31:32Because it did look like Holiday was in front of Brunson.
31:40Here's that long outlet from Tatum.
31:46So this would result in a free throw, technical free throw in possession for the Celtics.
31:54And they're going to look at that three for New York as well.
31:58Which appeared not to beat the shot clock.
32:02And you're right about both teams now.
32:07Kind of feeling each other out here in game two.
32:11Look.
32:12These last 48 hours, especially yesterday.
32:15By Greenview.
32:17The clear pass foul stands.
32:18We have two free throws for Holiday.
32:20Shot clock remains the same with Boston possession.
32:24And one more look.
32:25So this will be two free throws, excuse me, for Holiday on the clear path.
32:32After video review by the replay center, the main field goal at the 11-32 mark of the first quarter by OG on Anobe occurred after the exit.
32:43Yep, and they just announced it right there.
32:45They're going to take the three away from Anobe.
32:50That started things off, about 30 seconds into this game.
32:56And so it is a 4-0 Boston lead.
32:59And the line is Holiday.
33:02And the Knicks have started 0-4-8.
33:04With Holiday right now being the main producer of points here, having all five.
33:17Holiday on 16 in game one with six rebounds and three assists.
33:23He makes one or two right there.
33:24So the five-zip lead for the Celtics, who never trailed in any series last year on their march to the championship.
33:33Brown on top.
33:34White with the screen.
33:35Brunson will pick up Brown.
33:38And the rebound by OG Ananobi.
33:4129 points in game one after a 22-point performance in the series, clinching game six at Detroit in the first round.
33:50He'll make a move.
33:52Hart will launch a three.
33:53Another Tatum rebound.
33:56He's already got six.
33:58A little more than four minutes gone.
34:00Holiday and Tatum.
34:03Tatum with 23 in game one.
34:06He was 4 of 15 shooting threes.
34:09Towns comes out on him.
34:14As they penetrate the pain, Horford inside.
34:17And that is missed.
34:19OG rotated over for the initial shot by Horford.
34:22But no one was there to take Horford off that glass from his own miss.
34:30Towns pounding his way inside.
34:32Off the glass for two.
34:33Carl Anthony Towns.
34:35That's something you're going to see throughout this series.
34:38A smaller Celtic player.
34:39Guarding.
34:40What a move.
34:43Well, already we're seeing more straight line drives here by Boston than we saw all of game one.
34:50Johnson the bump into Brown.
34:51And it's OG Ananobi.
34:58And Tatum will defend.
35:00He'll steer his way into the paint.
35:03The cutting Brunson.
35:04Shot clock at four.
35:05And that nice little fade away with a Titans rebound.
35:08Brunson up and in.
35:10And Carl Anthony Towns has got a quick four.
35:12And something you mentioned earlier.
35:14That's one thing Cat has done great during these playoffs in the first round.
35:18And in game one is rebounding the basketball at both ends.
35:24It's White.
35:25And now Brown.
35:27Bulky right knee.
35:28He's been dealing with that for the last two months.
35:30And across the way.
35:31And got it.
35:32Got it.
35:32Fall.
35:33Brown.
35:34Brown.
35:37Absolutely.
35:38The mindset here of the Celtics attack that paint area.
35:44Eight second.
35:45Timeout.
35:46Celtics.
35:48Celtics.
35:49Most Celtics like the day.
35:51We'll take a timeout.
35:58Hi, Charles Barkley.
35:59Charles Wade Barkley.
36:01How are you, sir?
36:01Yeah, I'm doing good, Kelly.
36:02Don't forget to download the FanDuel Sports app.
36:04It's the best place for all our betting in same game parlays.
36:08And it pays out what?
36:10Instantly.
36:11I got a question for you tonight.
36:12Yes.
36:13Am I going to be wearing this?
36:14The Knicks win?
36:16You better get a green one.
36:17Or should I get the green one?
36:18Get the green one.
36:19Okay, I'll get the green one.
36:21I'm not sure.
36:23Sky blue?
36:25Nope.
36:26Okay.
36:28Brown at the line.
36:29Eight of ten from the stripe in game one.
36:31Missing there.
36:32Picked up by Brunson.
36:35He'll fly the other way.
36:36And it'll be wide open.
36:37Three.
36:39White's got the rebound.
36:40Cornette has checked in.
36:44And also Pritchard has checked in for Boston.
36:47Same five out there for the Knicks.
36:49And a lot of penetration inside by the Celtics, who are now five of nine in the lane on nine shots attempted.
36:59They're 0 of four from three to start.
37:01After missing 45, 43 is the other night.
37:06Here comes Bridges.
37:07His shot from mid-range.
37:08It's picked up.
37:09Another rebound by Tatum meets the defense of Ananobi.
37:12And White's three throws half.
37:17The first three tonight.
37:19And the crowd loves it.
37:22And now you're seeing why the Celtics, number one, the defending champs and what their DNA is.
37:27Not only the straight line drives, but being able to let the blocks out from the back side by Derek White.
37:33But attacking and knocking down threes.
37:36Pritchard three.
37:37Rebound Towns.
37:39He's got five already.
37:41With Bridges going the other way.
37:44First matchup in the playoffs with Boston for the Knicks.
37:48Since 2013 inside, Hart saved it.
37:52Bridges trying to get through traffic.
37:53Works inside.
37:54Reverse that goal.
37:56Cornette the rebound.
37:57Bad numbers.
37:58Right on the move.
38:00In stride.
38:01Oh!
38:01Oh, he tried to take off.
38:03Offensive foul.
38:04What a hard foul there, too, by Brown.
38:06Brunson was right in the way and took it.
38:09And Brown picked up his first for Boston.
38:11I mean, what a decision here by Brunson.
38:15That is outstanding defense.
38:17And you know you're going to take a licking, too, by a guy that outweighs you probably by 50 pounds.
38:23What a shot.
38:25Mitchell Robinson has checked in for the Knicks.
38:32Wow.
38:37Towns will sit.
38:38Brunson with the ball.
38:39And Robinson, that high screen.
38:44Here's the roll.
38:45Inside.
38:45Couldn't get it to go.
38:46And Cornette grabs it.
38:48And Brown to Pritchard.
38:51Leading score off the bench in the NBA this season.
38:54Hit more threes.
38:55Played more minutes.
38:56Won the six-man award.
38:58White is on top.
39:01Good play.
39:02Rebound Hart.
39:10Knicks won game one by three in overtime.
39:13Three.
39:14Hart.
39:14Good.
39:15Puts her down.
39:17He continues to shoot well.
39:1814 points with 11 rebounds in game one.
39:21After coming off a solid series against Detroit in the first round.
39:26On the road, it's those timely threes that New York needs.
39:32Tatum.
39:35Robinson will defend.
39:36Tatum to the hole.
39:37Rebound by Bridges.
39:41And Ananobi.
39:45Inside.
39:46Robinson got it right over Cornette.
39:49Good feed on the drive.
39:52Quick five here by New York.
39:54Inching their way back in this ball game after the slow start.
39:57Boston beat Orlando in the first round.
40:09Four games to one.
40:10One.
40:11Three.
40:13How good has he been all season long?
40:15Career highs and points.
40:17How about three-point shooting?
40:20And especially with Brown and Tatum not having great years from beyond the arc.
40:25It's been Derek White and Pritchard.
40:27Here's a steal by Brown.
40:29Turnover.
40:30Brown.
40:31The other way they go.
40:32With the defense on Brunson who coughs up that ball.
40:38Oh, they're going to get a foul on Bridges.
40:40And Bridges will pick this up.
40:46So the Celtics first the turnover.
40:49Take it the other way.
40:50Bridges picks up his first.
40:52Then we take a break.
40:56Pretty day in Boston.
40:57Second round coverage on TNT presented by Wingstop.
41:02With the ten-point lead for the Celtics.
41:06Time to fight for victory presented by Modelo.
41:10Talk about a team that understands how to play in clutch time.
41:15The Knicks.
41:16And that was the whole point when they were down 20.
41:20First this told us before the game.
41:22Just cut it to ten by the end of that third.
41:25They did that and the rest was history.
41:27Brzingis is in for the first time tonight for Boston.
41:30Brown is picked up by Mitchell Robinson.
41:35No time on the shot clock.
41:37And a violation on Boston.
41:40It got stuck.
41:42And the defense there for the Knicks.
41:45It'll be interesting just watching Porzingis.
41:48You know, you hear so much about this illness that he has.
41:51And him not being able to hold his stamina.
41:53What kind of spurts can he project here in this first quarter?
41:59Deuce McBride is in.
42:02And Robinson feeding a short pass to Ananobi.
42:05Broken up Brown.
42:06Four turnovers.
42:07Richard the other way.
42:11And he's got Robinson out there on him.
42:13Now this would be a drive here.
42:15There's no rim protection.
42:16That's a step back three.
42:17See, this is what the problem was in game one.
42:21Another three.
42:22This one will go.
42:23See, I don't mind having an offensive rebounding.
42:26But when they get Mitchell Robinson out there on the floor,
42:2930 feet away from the rim,
42:31Boston then has to do those straight-line drives.
42:34Brunson over Brown.
42:36Three won't go.
42:37Tipped by Porzingis.
42:38Picked up Ananobi.
42:40And back to Jalen Brunson.
42:43Hart.
42:44Three.
42:45No.
42:45Jalen Brown's got the ball.
42:54Celtic shooting 39%.
42:56Again, Mitchell Robinson is going to defend Brunson
43:01and breaks up the pass with a great steal.
43:03Brunson three on two.
43:05Hart the other way.
43:06Kicks in the corner.
43:07Three.
43:08No.
43:08By McBride who came off with a threes.
43:11And Robinson cleans it up inside.
43:13Robinson was a plus 13 in game one off the bench for the New York Knicks.
43:20The best of any Knicks players.
43:22Plus 13.
43:23Plus 13.
43:24And that's going to re-entend from the free-throw line.
43:30Under a minute to go here in the first.
43:33And Brown will drive into Ananobi.
43:35Inside they go.
43:37It'll creep in.
43:39Jalen Brown has been intentional with his play here in the first quarter.
43:43He's got six.
43:46Richard on McBride.
43:48Great defense by Pritchard.
43:49He's going right at him.
43:51Sticking on him.
43:51No switching there.
43:52Brunson on top.
43:55Holiday there.
43:55Now the switch with Porzingis defending.
44:00Oh, what a move by Brunson.
44:02Abra can Abra on that one.
44:04Pretty point.
44:05He gets the basket to fall there.
44:08And it looked like he was holding Porzingis' knee on that reverse as he was going around him.
44:14Smart move there by Brunson.
44:15Brunson's one of six.
44:17There's a whistle.
44:19It was bombed before the shot.
44:22First in the last two minutes.
44:25Look at this last play here by Brunson.
44:27Look at his right arm as he's kind of holding the knee there.
44:32Of course, Zing is up and under.
44:33Beautiful move there by Jalen.
44:38So now just under five seconds to go here in the first.
44:41Celtics have led by 13.
44:44Lead now at 11.
44:45Holladale inbound.
44:49Cross court.
44:50Horford free.
44:51It's a three.
44:53And the rebound by Bridges.
44:55Hoisting it the length of the floor.
44:56Quarters come to a close.
44:58The Celtics from three are three of ten.
45:03And the New York Knicks are six of 23 overall through one.
45:09NBA Tonight on TNT brought to you by the Kia Telluride X-Line.
45:14Back in Boston, the 2025 NBA playoffs are presented by Google.
45:20That was the lowest scoring first quarter in a playoff game for the Knicks since 2003.
45:26Moments ago, Allie LaForce caught up with Carl Anthony Towns of New York.
45:31Well, Kat, I know it felt like there was a lid on the rim to start that game.
45:36But how do you continue generating those high percentage looks and getting the confidence back offensively?
45:40We just got to stay confident.
45:42You know, trust our abilities.
45:43Trust the work we put in.
45:45We're getting good looks.
45:46We just got to make them, like you said.
45:47Thanks so much, Kat.
45:47Second quarter is underway.
45:50Here is White out there with Pritchard and Tatum and Porzingis and Horford.
45:54That's the Celtic five.
45:55Pritchard is watching Tatum.
45:58Payne has come in for the Knicks.
46:01Rebound by Mitchell Robinson.
46:03He's already collected four off the bench.
46:06Again, I always love this double big lineup that the Knicks put out there with Robinson and Carl Anthony Towns.
46:14Towns will ramrod his way inside.
46:17It's picked up by Tatum.
46:19And the Celtics will control with White on top.
46:24This has got to be a lot of dribble penetration, draw, and kick here to move these big bodies.
46:29That's the guys.
46:30Tatum.
46:30Just like that.
46:31You're going to have the double big lineup on the floor.
46:33These bigs aren't used to being at that three-point line.
46:37You've got to move them side to side.
46:39Tatum just got his first basket of the night.
46:41McBride to Bridges.
46:45And Towns down low against the 38-year-old Horford.
46:50Count it.
46:51Foul.
46:54And Towns to the line.
46:57We saw so much settling in terms of just shooting threes between Tatum and Brown.
47:02And Tatum here moving without the ball.
47:04A little brush screen there.
47:06By Porzingis.
47:07And the finish.
47:09Carl Anthony Towns.
47:12How about the start?
47:12Only one personal foul.
47:14So, longer time on the floor.
47:16Only played 31 minutes in game one.
47:18And right now, the leading scorer for the Knicks was seven.
47:22That's the three-point play right there.
47:24That was New York's first free-throw attempt to this game, too.
47:29Towns not taking many threes last couple games, either.
47:32All of two taking threes.
47:33Really, over the last two years, his three-point projection has been down.
47:37They go down low.
47:38Porzingis couldn't handle the pass.
47:39Out of bounds.
47:40Knicks have it.
47:40New York was swept by Boston in the regular season by an average of 16 points in the wins.
47:49But the last meeting went to overtime at the Garden.
47:52Boston won by two.
47:53We had overtime here in game one.
47:55And the Knicks won by three.
47:57Towns.
47:58He's chasing in with Horford.
48:00Got it.
48:00Count it.
48:01Foul.
48:01He's going to be back-to-back fouls on Al Horford.
48:06Being a little bit too physical.
48:07There's the push down low right in the midsection.
48:11Carl Anthony Towns.
48:13He got off to a decent start in game one.
48:15He didn't pick up those two quick fouls.
48:18Excuse me.
48:18Those quick three fouls and had to go to the bench.
48:22But what a start here now for Towns.
48:25Four of six.
48:26Chance to get to double figures.
48:28And as bad as the Knicks were in that first quarter, again, hanging around.
48:36That's kind of been their motto.
48:38Get to the fourth quarter to let Brunson use some of his magic.
48:42So Towns has gone four of six.
48:43Rest of the Knicks four of 12.
48:45Three.
48:45Horford.
48:47Hazingish a high rebound.
48:49Out to Pritchard.
48:50Three.
48:52Payne will chase it.
48:53Out of bounds.
48:54Off of Horford.
48:55Off of Boston.
48:56New York's ball.
48:57Well, why not?
49:03He might as well try to get a little brush green for Carl Anthony Towns back in that post area.
49:08Down there with Horford guarded him.
49:12Knicks are shooting 31%.
49:13Towns against Horford.
49:17In hard.
49:18Got it.
49:19And now it's a five-point game with nine and a halves in the half.
49:22And a quick eight points for Towns in a span of a minute and a half.
49:27He's got 12.
49:28Eight-nothing runs.
49:29All by Carl Anthony Towns for the Knicks.
49:32Swerving is Tatum.
49:34Over on Robinson.
49:35Aldered the shot.
49:36Towns the rebound.
49:38He's got six.
49:39Cameron Payne signed in July.
49:43Long shot here.
49:44Rebound White.
49:46No need for it.
49:47You got a guy out there who is blistering hot.
49:50And no one can guard him.
49:51You got to get that ball to town.
49:56Boston 37% so far.
49:58Robinson on the floor digging it out.
50:01Crappling.
50:02Jump ball.
50:05Now, how about Mitchell Robinson and down there with him, Horford trying to dig it away.
50:12Well, we saw back-to-back possessions by Towns in the post.
50:15How about this?
50:16He gets forced out to the three-point line.
50:18Able to get all the way to the cup.
50:20But how about the hustle?
50:21There's a reason why he was a plus 13.
50:24The best of any Knick in game one.
50:26And it's like plays like that.
50:28And I'm surprised the shot clock is at 22.
50:31Did it change possession on Robinson?
50:35It shouldn't be at 22.
50:44Let's see if change of possession happened for the Knicks.
50:49No possession there.
50:52Yeah, maybe.
50:52I don't know.
50:56But nonetheless, it's 22 on the clock.
50:58That's advantage for the Celtics.
51:03If they lose this.
51:05Tatum's got it.
51:09Three, Pritchard.
51:11Rebound by Robinson.
51:13Pritchard the other night off the bench, shooting threes, two or five.
51:16Tonight, he does not have the stroke yet.
51:18One or five.
51:19There's Towns and Brown down low.
51:26And they were jousting.
51:27And that is the second on Brown of Boston.
51:33And tonight, the NBA game two on TNT.
51:36Brought to you by Clorox.
51:37Because when you're looking for a boost, clean feels good.
51:41Ride the hot hand if you're Coach Thibodeau in the Knicks right now.
51:46Now you've got the smaller Jalen Brown trying to defend Carl Anthony Towns.
51:51And here comes the intentional fouling on Mitchell Robinson from Luke Cornett.
51:56Cornett picked up the foul.
51:58Remember, Robinson was three of ten from the free throw line in game one.
52:02And he's only a 52% free throw shooter.
52:06So I expect another quick foul here by either Cornett or Pritchard on Robinson.
52:13Hart is going to come off the bench and check in for the Knicks.
52:18And now what that does, it takes Robinson off the floor here.
52:21Another big body because he's a poor free throw shooter.
52:26But you bring in an excellent offensive rebounder in Hart.
52:31Towns cross-court Hart into Towns.
52:36He's doubled, knocked away by Cornett.
52:39And leading the charge the other way.
52:41Tatum off to Brown in the corner.
52:43White.
52:43He's free.
52:44He fires.
52:44He misses.
52:45Cornett was shoved by Towns.
52:48The second on Carl Anthony.
52:51And as Cornett was trying to tip it in.
52:53Two on camp.
52:55Now, I know I said feed the hot hand of Carl Anthony Towns.
52:58But if you're Hart, once you get into the defense right there, you've got to kind of shoot that little floater.
53:04Because he would have had the offensive rebounding position on the inside if Hart would have missed that.
53:12When Hart came in, he took Robinson's place.
53:17Now, this is the time when Cat picked up a silly third foul in that game one and had to go to the bench.
53:24So, he has to be very careful out here playing with these two fouls.
53:28White.
53:28The fake pass.
53:29The feed.
53:30He goes into Cornett.
53:32It's a seven-point.
53:34Boston lead.
53:35Hart the other way.
53:36Accelerates.
53:37Rockets to the rim.
53:38Gets it to drop.
53:40Josh Hart.
53:41Two straight double-doubles for him.
53:45Game six and game one.
53:48White couldn't get the pass.
53:50Saved it barely and Tito.
53:54We had eyes all over it, didn't we?
53:56Look at this defense by Bridges.
53:58Bridges right there.
54:00Cornett.
54:01They wheel it in.
54:02Holiday lost the ball.
54:04He just took the place of Pritchard who took a seat on the Boston bench.
54:12Boston has turned it over seven times.
54:15The Celtics average in the regular year.
54:17The second fewest turnovers of any team.
54:19Only 12 a game.
54:20And the Knicks getting back into this ballgame with Brunson on the bench.
54:25McBride.
54:26Towns.
54:27Brown will defend.
54:27Doubled by Holiday.
54:29Trying to get through.
54:30Lance White who picks it up.
54:32Man, that's a lot of contact down low.
54:34Jalen Brown is three and seven.
54:36The stutter step in the drive.
54:38This is the best I've seen Jalen Brown in these playoffs.
54:44He looks like his lift is a little bit more explosive.
54:48And again, I'm talking about him being intentional in his moves here in game two.
54:54I felt that he settled too much in game one on that three.
54:59Knicks take the timeout.
55:00Second round coverage on TNT is presented by Wingstop.
55:08Time for greatness on the court.
55:10Fueled by Gatorade.
55:11Carl Anthony Towns.
55:1358 double-doubles.
55:15Third most in the association.
55:17Sitting on 12 points and six rebounds in this first half for the Knicks.
55:24Cameron Payne is checked out.
55:26Brunson back in the game.
55:27Approaching seven to play in the second quarter.
55:29And Hard is on top.
55:30Towns, Hart, Brunson, the bump into Holiday.
55:40The shot clock at six and a floater on the fly.
55:43Cornette the rebound.
55:44Brunson now one of seven.
55:46Only two points.
55:48Brown.
55:48Good move into Hart.
55:50He defends.
55:50He sticks with him.
55:51But sticking with the shot was Brown.
55:54Double figures now with ten.
55:55Looks like everything's been in the paint for Brown.
56:02Boston three of 14 shooting threes.
56:05One of nine for the Knicks.
56:08It's Bridges on top with the drive into Tatum.
56:12The hesitation.
56:13And Towns is there to clean it up and put it back in.
56:1614 for Carl Anthony Towns who leads all scores in this game two.
56:21Brown three.
56:22Rebound Carl Anthony Towns.
56:24And the quick outlet is thrown away.
56:29Bridges could not find the handle.
56:31The pass thrown a little bit in back of him.
56:33The Knicks coached by Tom Thibodeau in a 51-win season.
56:38Cat.
56:40Cat.
56:40You've got to keep moving.
56:41We've got to get you off activity.
56:43Right?
56:44So screen.
56:45Roll the post.
56:46Look in.
56:47Okay.
56:47Stay on the board.
56:49Yeah.
56:49Yeah.
56:50Get some stuff.
56:51Let's get it up.
56:52Let's get it up quick.
56:53Good drive by White.
56:55And Cornette finishes inside.
57:01In game one, Knicks trail by as many as 20 and came back on the fly.
57:06Brunson gets it to go.
57:08Takes it in.
57:08Give him four.
57:10First two of the second quarter.
57:12That's the bread and butter of Jim and Brunson in this Knicks.
57:15When he can get into the paint and get to that floater.
57:19Tatum trying to gouge the lane.
57:21This is over Towns.
57:23Rebound by Bridges.
57:25Tatum has started the game.
57:26One of seven.
57:28Here's Hart.
57:30Dan Brunson is there.
57:31And White is on him.
57:33Good fake by Brunson.
57:34Knocked away.
57:35Good defense by the Boston Celtics.
57:37That's a combination with White leading the way.
57:40And a three on the fly.
57:41No.
57:42And an OB is in.
57:43Gets the rebound.
57:45And a steal.
57:45And a steal.
57:46Again on a backward turnover.
57:49Holiday.
57:49No.
57:50Brown offensive rebound.
57:51In the corner from Holiday Open Triple.
57:57That's where the Celtics.
58:00They just kill you.
58:02If you turn the ball over.
58:04You don't.
58:05Defensive rebound.
58:06They know how to hurt you.
58:07Nice answer though.
58:09By O.G. Ananobi.
58:11Knocking down his second three.
58:16Here's Brown.
58:17Oh look at this.
58:18He's a spin on Hart.
58:19What a play.
58:20And what a move.
58:22Fouled on the play.
58:24Oh.
58:24Brown got it to go.
58:26Again I know I keep using this word intentional by Jalen Brown.
58:29He was one for ten in game one for three.
58:34Didn't have a lot of lift and was settling.
58:37But tonight everything has been in the green.
58:42Josh Yard picked up the foul first on him.
58:46Twelve field goals.
58:48Six mates.
58:49Six rebounds.
58:51Two steals.
58:53What an early performance here by Brown here in the first half.
58:58For Boston.
59:00Four-time All-Star.
59:02We'll have that creep in.
59:03Seems like every time New York creeps back in and knocks on the door, gets to six or seven.
59:13The Celtics find an answer.
59:16It's Brunson.
59:17Ananobi over Holliday three.
59:22Missed it.
59:22Cornette caught it.
59:23White on the move.
59:27White coming off his first career playoff double-double in game one.
59:32When he had 19 and 11.
59:34Tatum got a screen and takes it into Towns and kicks it out to Brown for three.
59:40Missed it all.
59:42Four of 19 three-point shooting.
59:45We told you before they took 63s.
59:47Everybody's been talking about it.
59:48That was a playoff record for the game.
59:53Boston shot 35 percent.
59:55Twos and threes.
59:57And Brunson throws it away.
59:58Another.
59:59Uh-huh.
59:59Uh-huh.
59:59Uh-huh.
00:00Um...
00:00Um...
00:01Mm-hmm.
00:02Um...
00:02Uh-huh.
00:04Um...
00:14Bo discriminating.
00:27Uh-huh.
