00:00A dry afternoon ahead, plenty of sunny spells, and feeling warm in the sunshine for most,
00:06but not for all.
00:07And the reason for the settled spell of weather this week, well, it's all thanks to high pressure
00:11swirling around across the country, but with it, we also drag in a north-easterly flow
00:15of air, so more cloud across eastern areas and a bit more of a breeze here, so that's
00:19just going to add on to a bit of a chill this afternoon.
00:22But otherwise, mostly dry, plenty of sunny spells, particularly across the west and across
00:27the far south, though central areas may just hold on to the cloud for most of the afternoon,
00:31so cloudier skies here, but where we see the sunshine in western areas, it is going to
00:36be feeling warm, highs of around 18 to 19 degrees Celsius, but across eastern areas, chilly
00:42once again, temperatures mostly in the mid to low teens.
00:47Into the evening, we'll see a mix of cloud and clearer spells, and overnight, it remains
00:51fairly similar, and under the clearest of skies, that's where temperatures are soon going to
00:56slip away, so it's likely it will be a bit more of a chillier night if we compare it to
00:59last night, perhaps even some mist and fog by the time we reach dawn, but overall, staying
01:05largely dry, and lows perhaps just about dipping below freezing in some localised spots, but
01:10many areas in the mid to high single figures.
01:14So a chilly start for Friday, the end of the week, any mist and fog should clear away quite
01:18readily, and then once again with the high pressure, plenty of dry weather on offer, and probably
01:24more sunshine compared to this afternoon, particularly across central areas where it's going to be
01:28mostly cloudy Thursday afternoon, so wall-to-wall sunshine in many areas, but that's away from
01:34the far northwest, some cloud just slipping in here, perhaps even some light outbreaks
01:38of rain into the afternoon.
01:40But for many, lots of sunshine, and temperatures increased a little compared to Thursday afternoon,
01:45so feeling warm, highs reaching around 21 degrees Celsius, particularly across eastern
01:49areas, it is going to feel slightly warmer here, just with a slight shift in wind direction.
01:54And then over the weekend, well, high pressure sticks with us, but it largely pushes its
01:59way eastwards, and that does allow, once again, more cloud, some light outbreaks of rain just
02:04to clip the very far northwest.
02:06And we also need to keep an eye on this feature just down towards the southwest, this pushing
02:10up later Saturday into Sunday, so a chance we could see some heavy showers, these possibly
02:16turning thundery, and if they do, it could require some warning.
02:20So one to keep an eye on, fairly low confidence at the moment, but for more information, don't
