00:00When we consider and we hear the sacrifice of that generation,
00:03not just those in uniform, but the whole of the country,
00:08we have to remember and remind ourselves that freedom isn't free.
00:13And the direct recognition that Ukraine
00:19is fighting a war in Europe again for the first time for 80 years,
00:24and it is fighting for the same things that we fought 80 years ago for.
00:30The future of their country and their freedom,
00:33and that's why they are the front line of Europe's defence.
00:37That's why they're fighting for the same values.
00:39That's why I'm proud of the unified UK leadership
00:43that we're displaying on Ukraine.
00:45The lesson of 80 years ago reminds us of the importance of alliances
00:50and of collective defence.
00:55And, of course, that post-war government
00:57was instrumental in establishing NATO,
01:01and NATO is now 32 nations strong.
01:03And as a new government,
01:05our commitment to NATO is unshakable.
01:07Our determination to put NATO first
01:09and to lead where we can and be first in NATO is absolute.
01:17Thank you very much.
