00:00I have good news if you're enjoying the fine, warm, sunny weather many of us have at the moment.
00:06Less good news if you're hoping for a bit of rain.
00:08Not much of that for most of us as we go through this weekend, but there could be some heavy rain around.
00:13I'll come on to that in a second.
00:15Starting off, though, looking at our bigger picture, and we are still heavily under the influence of high pressure.
00:20That high, though, has drifted a little bit towards the east compared to earlier on in the week,
00:25and so that's changed our wind direction a little bit.
00:27It's allowed for some slightly warmer air to push its way in, so we are seeing our temperatures rising.
00:32And with that wind direction, those eastern parts, which have always felt quite a bit fresher through this week,
00:38they're starting to warm up quite nicely as well.
00:40But looking in a bit more detail as we go through this afternoon and towards the far northwest of Scotland,
00:46a bit more cloud here could be a few spots of rain.
00:49Otherwise, it's a fine picture across the board.
00:52Lots of sunshine on offer, and in that sunshine, like I said, feeling pretty warm.
00:56Temperatures are a little bit higher than they were over the rest of the week.
01:00More places getting into the high teens or low 20s, that kind of thing.
01:03And like I said, towards those eastern coastal parts, starting to feel a bit warmer than it has done recently as well.
01:10More fine weather to come as we go through this evening.
01:12Lots of sunshine to look forward to.
01:13And then a largely dry, clear night.
01:16I say largely dry because there's always the chance of a bit of rain pushing into the far northwest of Scotland,
01:21but otherwise plenty of clear skies.
01:23And with generally light winds, although we do have that warmer air pushing in,
01:28I'm still expecting it to be a little bit of a chilly night, similar to some recent nights so far this week.
01:33And so we could see a touch of frost maybe in some prone spots and maybe a few pockets of mist and fog.
01:40Most places, though, avoiding this and staying a few degrees above freezing.
01:43Nonetheless, a bit of a fresh start to the day on Saturday.
01:46But with plenty of sunshine on offer, once the sun does come up, it's going to help lift our temperatures quite nicely, quite quickly.
01:53Like I said, always a bit of a cloud, a bit of rain perhaps towards the northwest.
01:59Otherwise, through Saturday as well, it's looking mostly fine and lots of dry, sunny weather on offer.
02:05And our temperatures are going to be even higher.
02:07A greater chance of getting into the low to mid 20s for many places.
02:11So feeling pretty warm indeed in that sunshine, the winds aren't going to be especially strong.
02:16Just a little bit of breeze towards the northeast perhaps, but otherwise generally light winds.
02:21So adding to that relatively warm feel to things.
02:24Now, as we go through later on Saturday, we do need to pay attention to some hefty showers that are coming in from the south.
02:30Now, these are likely to feed their weight northward.
02:32Still some uncertainty as to how far these are going to spread.
02:36But do be aware, overnight, Saturday night into Sunday and then through Sunday itself, there's a reasonable chance that we could see some heavy, perhaps even thundery showers affecting parts of the southwest in particular, maybe south Wales.
02:49Like I said, some question marks as to exactly where these showers are going to be.
02:53They could be a bit more widespread both east and northwards.
02:56And also, this front towards the northwest hasn't really pushed away entirely.
03:00There's the potential that some of this rain could feed into northwestern parts of Scotland as we go through Sunday as well.
03:06But actually, otherwise, away from these two areas of, well, some question marks, it's looking like a largely fine day again for most of us and pretty warm.
03:16In fact, temperatures on Sunday likely to be even higher than on Saturday.
03:19We'll have more details about what we can expect in our weather studio live, which if you missed it earlier on today, you can catch up with it on our YouTube channel.
03:27See you later.
