There's a long held saying that things "come in threes", and in the case of award-winning country band Hey Romeo, that numerical combination is rolled out in more ways than just the fact that the group is a trio of extremely talented individuals.

And it's not just "good" things coming in threes in case of Hey Romeo, it's about "great' things.

Stacie Roper, Rob Shapiro, and Darren Gusnowsky, make for a genuine triple threat, when it comes to writing, singing, and playing, and that notion was backed up in late 2008 when Hey Romeo was named New Group of the Year by the Canadian Country Music Association.

With the release of the new Hey Romeo album THAT'S WHAT I AM, music lovers across the land will be reminded again that Roper, Shapiro and Gusnowsky are one of the hottest acts on the Canadian country music landscape.

The buzz on this 12 song set started growing at the top of 2010 as the single Searchin' For You, written by the group and successful Nashville tunesmith Victoria Banks, was released prior to the album. As Hey Romeo rolled across this snowbound country in support of Deric Ruttan's cross-Canada tour, Searchin' For You was rolling up the charts, eventually landing in the national top twenty, and the buzz was loud thanks to the double-barreled bang of radio spins and live performances.

Produced by Nashville songwriting ace Byron Hill, who has written scores of hit songs for everyone from Reba McEntire to George Straight, THAT'S WHAT I AM is a reflection of Hey Romeo's commitment to craft, whether it's defining a great melody line, polishing a glistening chorus, or putting a new spin on a universal theme.

Combine Roper's top-drawer vocals that slide between playful and sultry, the tasty production whipped up by Hill and Hey Romeo band members, the great vocal blend of the three, woven into songs that are perfectly polished gems, and it's no wonder the Hey Romeo is pumped about taking their music to audiences at home and abroad. "Byron pushed hard and got the best out of us, we feel this is our strongest record to date and we hope people have as much fun with it as we had making it" says Rob Shapiro, who was also named Keyboard Player of the Year by the CCMA in 2009 and 2010. He's also part of a band that has notched over 700 gigs since coming together. There has also been radio success with the spirited cover of Fleetwood Mac's Second Hand News and original tunes like Sorry That You're Leavin'. Hey Romeo has taken that book of tunes to attentive audiences at major festival across the land, and while opening shows for the likes of Sugarland and Johnny Reed. Now the well is even deeper with this new batch of material.
