Jared Loughner, the man who shot dead six people and wounded thirteen others including a former Arizona congresswoman, has been sent to jail for life with no possibility of parole.
Gabrielle Giffords, who was in court to witness the proceedings, suffered a head wound in the attack in January last year that left her partially paralysed .
