Every year on Easter Sunday there will be at least one person trying to buy a case of beer. And every time they will say, "But it's Easter" like having an alcoholic beverage is somehow a part of the Easter Tradition. It has been quite some time since I've frequented any churches, but I don't remember getting plastered as part of the religious practices. And yes, I have had people tell me that it was discriminatory against Christians to not sell them beer on their religious holiday.
I did a little bit of looking around and even the places that are allowed to sell alcohol on Sundays are barred from selling beer on Easter Sunday.
