Diet Plan Testimonials Round 1: Alternate-Day Fasting

A newer addition to the diet plan landscape, alternate-day fasting is just that: a "feast" day where you eat normally, followed by a "fast" day when you eat far less. There are a few intermittent fasting-based systems out there, but AskMen went with the Every Other Day diet, which prescribes alternating between "fast" days with a 500 calorie cap and days where you can eat whatever you want. The logic goes that dieters will skip more calories on their fast days than they eat on feast days.

The nutritionist cautioned the alternate-day fasters to avoid losing muscle instead of fat by maintaining some kind of regular exercise regime on the non-fasting days, as well as eating lots of fatty proteins on the feast days and taking supplemental vitamin C.
