Ingredients:-
For the Gravy:-
2 tbsp. Oil
1 tsp. Cumin seeds
2 Onions, finely chopped
Salt, to taste
2 tsp. Ginger-garlic paste
3-4 Tomatoes, sliced
1 Green chilli
½ tsp. Red Chilli powder
½ tsp. Turmeric powder
Water, as required
½ cup curd
1 tsp. Garam Masala
Coriander leaves
For the Kofta:-
1 Bottle Gourd, grated (approximately 500 gms.)
Salt, to taste
½ tsp. Carom Seeds
½ tsp. Red chilli powder
½ tsp. Coriander powder
¼ tsp. Cumin seed powder
1 tsp. Garam Masala
3-4 tbsp. Gram Flour (Besan)
Corn Flour for coating
Oil for Frying
Method:-
1. In a bowl take the Kofta ingredients, strain the water form the bottle gourd, and mix thoroughly.
2. Make lemon-sized balls of the mixture and deep fry in the oil until golden brown.
3. In a pan heat oil and add cumin seeds, onion, salt, ginger-garlic paste, tomatoes, green chilli, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and saute. Add water and bring to a boil. Keep aside and cool down to room temperature.
4. Once cooled down to room temperature, grind the gravy in a mixer/grinder to a fine paste.
5. Strain the gravy through a sieve by adding the water from the strained bottle gourd.
6. In the same pan add the gravy back and add fried koftas, curd, garam masala, coriander leaves and cook for 3-4 minutes.
Lauki Ke Kofte are ready to eat!!
