Alejandra's music genre is blues, also rock and roll and pop. Her style shows the influence of artists such as Koko Taylor, Memphis Minnie, Etta James, Ruth Browm, Big Mama Thornton, Wanda Jackson, Janis Martin, Elvis Presley, Janis Joplin and The Beatles, among others. At the age of eight, led by her father, she entered the musical world. It was then that she started taking percussion, guitar and singing lessons at The Roma Musical School.
She was a member of The Beladies, a band in which she played and sang numerous times in Argentina.
She studied Music Composition at The Quilmes National University and at The Avellaneda Popular Musical School.
At the age of twenty-one she became a member of a female Country Trio directed by Gabriel Taborda and Angeles del Arcangel.
After several performances, she participated in San Pedro Country Music Festival in 2005.
She took part in both national and international Country, Blues and Jazz concerts in "The Camarón and Langostino National Festival" in Ingeniero White, and in The First Blues Festival at the Colon Theatre in Punta Alta City, among others.
The members of her present band in Buenos Aires are: Juan M. González - Bass, Pablo Palmieri - Drums, Ariel Burgos - Guitar.
As her concert guests we can mention several musicians, like Cristian "Little" Luna (from Old Blues Trio), Guido Luján, Martín Vázquez, German Ringer, Marcelo Poggi, Pablo Palmieri, Marcos Lenn, Carlos Rotondaro, Luis Taboada and Fernando Goin.
At the beginning of 2007, the NoRon Production Company made a videoclip of The Beatles "Tell me what you see" sung and recorded by Alejandra. This clip was the Winner as The Best VideoClip in FESAALP 2007 La Plata Audiovisual Art Festival.
Soon after that she composed "Bajo Hondo", a song dedicated to a rural town located in Coronel Rosales. This song was declared of Cultural Legislative Interest, a prize created by journalist Carlos Lurashi.
Besides, Alejandra received the Néstor Francischelli Award, granted by Punta Alta City in the "Community Artists" category.
In 2008 and 2009 she successfully ended her tour around Spain and at present she is on a tour not only around Spain but also around other European countries.
SOME THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS
ON ALEJANDRA BURGOS
Whenever I listen to Alejandra Burgos and see her on any stage I am deeply moved by her "unique" voice, her talent, her energy and her passion for music, which she transmits in each of her songs.
She sings straight from her heart and gives the audience not only her voice but ALL OF HERSELF. She really feels what she sings and you can percieve that. This is one of her many merits.
She is so creative that even when she isn't singing her own songs, you may think they are hers because she gives each song a part of herself and sings it her own way.
One essential thing about great, creative and original talent is that it can't be copied, and I think that is what she has. That's why you can't either sing like Alejandra Burgos or compare her.
