Justin Trudeau’s So-Called “Social Justice”

Whenever I hear the expression “social justice” I am reminded of what T. S. Eliot had to say about this phrase in a footnote to the introduction of his excellent Notes Towards the Definition of Culture.

Eliot wrote:

I must introduce a parenthetical protest against the abuse of the current term ‘social justice’. From meaning ‘justice in relations between groups or classes’ it may slip into meaning a particular assumption as to what these relationships should be; and a course of action might be supported because it represented the aim of ‘social justice’, which from the point of view of ‘justice’ was not just. The term ‘social justice’ is in danger of losing its rational content — which would be replaced by a powerful emotional charge. I believe that I have used the term myself: it should never be employed unless the user is prepared to define clearly what social justice means to him, and why he thinks it just.

Justin Trudeau ‘jealous’ of immigrants and families who chose Canada

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said he is “jealous” of immigrants to Canada and their families, who, he said, have more of a stake in the country than others.

“Anytime I meet people who got to make the deliberate choice, whose parents chose Canada, I’m jealous,” he said in an interview that aired Friday morning on CTV.

“Because I think being able to choose it, rather than being Canadian by default, is an amazing statement of attachment to Canada.”

The interview aired on the eve of the much-hyped Parliament Hill celebration for Canada Day, a date that has triggered some negative reactions.

The dangers of Trudeau’s ‘postnational’ Canada

I’m trying to understand Justin Trudeau’s idealistic thinking.

When the prime minister says Canada is the world’s “first postnational state,” I believe he’s saying this is a place where respect for minorities trumps any one group’s way of doing things.

‘There is no core identity, no mainstream in Canada,’ Trudeau claimed after the October election. ‘There are shared values – openness, respect, compassion, willingness to work hard, to be there for each other, to search for equality and justice.”

The New York Times writer who obtained this quote said Trudeau’s belief Canada has no core identity is his “most radical” political position. It seems especially so combined with criticism Trudeau is a lightweight on national security and sovereignty.

Not too many Canadians, however, seem disturbed by Trudeau talking about us as a “postnational state.”

Maybe they just write it off as political bafflegab. But of all the countries in the world, Canada, with its high proportion of immigrants and official policy of multiculturalism, may also be one of the few places where politicians and academics treat virtually all forms of nationalism with deep suspicion.

The Carbon TAX Scam

Carbon dioxide (CO2) is vital to all life on Earth, but most particularly to every piece of vegetation that grows on it. Top climatologists tell me that it plays a very small role, if any, in the Earth’s climate or weather. Why would anyone expect a gas that represents 400 parts per million of all atmospheric gases, barely 0.04% of all atmospheric gases to have the capacity to affect something as huge and dynamic as the weather or climate?

Carbon Tax Fraud

This could be the BIGGEST SCAM that a Canadian government has ever forced on the citizens of Canada. The Truth about the ” Carbon Tax Grab ” …….. is what happens when a government does not know how to manage money and/or misspends our money.

If the governments of the World truly believed that humans are 100% responsible for “Climate Change”, why wouldn’t they focus attention on China (30%), the USA (15%) and the European Union (10%). These three nations alone contribute more than half of the total global carbon emissions.

Canada’s carbon pricing is a fraud

Since the Paris climate agreement is a fraud, it’s only fitting that the looming carbon pricing schemes of Canada’s federal and provincial governments are fraudulent as well.

The reason they are fraudulent is that, with the exception of B.C.’s carbon tax, none are revenue neutral.

Any carbon pricing scheme that is not revenue neutral does not have as its primary purpose lowering greenhouse gas emissions linked to climate change.

Rather, it’s a cash grab by financially incompetent governments.
