Navratri Special उपवासाची इडली or Upvas Idli is a delicious recipe which can be made for breakfast during Upvas. Made with Barnyard Millet and Sago this recipe is filling as well as flavorful, and is perfect for one's craving for idli, during the fasting period.
Ingredients:
(Serves 4)
- 1 1/2 cups Barnyard Millet
- 1/4 cup Sago(grounded)
- 1 cup Curd
- 1 tsp Baking Soda
- 1 cup Water
- Salt
Method:
- Take barnyard millet in a bowl and add grounded sago, curd, baking soda
- Mix all of this together and add water to it
- Now, add salt as per taste; mix it and keep it aside for around 15 minutes
- Grease the idli mould with oil and add batter to the mould
- Add 1 ltr water in the idli making vessel
- Place the moulds over it and steam them for 15-20 minutes
- Once steamed, take it out and keep it aside to cool down for around 5 minutes
- Now take out this upvas idli in a serving plate and serve it with upvas chatni
