00:00Clutch Cargo with his pal Spinner and Paddlefoot in another exciting adventure, The Rustlers.
00:16After writing another chapter in the adventure log book, Clutch and company head toward home.
00:21Below them is the land of the Golden West, the land of cowboys, rodeos, and ranches.
00:32It's been quite a while since I flew this territory, Spinner.
00:36I thought maybe we'd have time to stop and say hello to a friend of mine, Tex Wright.
00:40Tex Wright? Sounds like a real cowboy.
00:43Champion of Longhorn County's rodeo.
00:47Runs a 40,000 acre ranch.
00:49Raises prize white-faced cattle.
00:52An all-around westerner.
00:54Golly, Tex sounds like the western heroes we see on TV, eh, Paddlefoot?
01:00I know you like my friend Tex.
01:02Wonderful person.
01:04And talk about real western cooking.
01:07Nobody cooks any better.
01:09I'd sure like to be like Tex, Clutch.
01:12Roof and ridge, just like Tex Wright.
01:16There's where we set her down, Spinner.
01:18We're coming in.
01:26That's the ranch house. All out.
01:29I see some cowboys way over there.
01:31Maybe one of them is Tex.
01:33Could be, Spinner.
01:34But there's a far away I can't tell.
01:36Clutch. Clutch Cargo.
01:39Hi.
01:40You're just passing over. Thought we'd drop in.
01:42Am I glad to see you.
01:44I was just thinking about you.
01:47You must have read my mind.
01:48Sure is good to see you, Tex.
01:51A girl?
01:54Spinner, this is Tex Wright.
01:56Tex, you've heard all about Spinner and Paddlefoot.
01:59I think Spinner thought you were a man.
02:01I really am glad to know you, Miss Tex.
02:04And I think I've changed my mind about being just like you.
02:09Don't know what to do, Clutch.
02:12Two head of prize cattle disappear at a time.
02:15Right into thin air.
02:16I've lost 60 cattle in the last month.
02:18Think you can help me, Clutch?
02:21We'll do all we can, Tex.
02:22Get your pony, Spinner.
02:24We're going to look around.
02:25I'll go with you and show you where they graze.
02:28What's that funny looking truck, Miss Tex?
02:30That's the medicine show truck, Spinner.
02:33They've been around these parts with their show for a couple of months now.
02:36A medicine show? What do you know?
02:38Haven't seen one since I was a kid.
02:40Do you think maybe we can see this one, Clutch?
02:43They do a matinee show.
02:45We'll try and catch it.
02:46Fine.
02:47But right now, we'd better look around.
02:50Clutch and company with Tex.
02:52Begin their ride and head for the West Forty Range.
03:02You say most of the cattle have disappeared from the West Forty section?
03:05How far is that from the ranch house, Tex?
03:08About five miles.
03:10It's on the other side of that hill.
03:12Look at Cuddlefoot.
03:13He's found a new way to ride.
03:17Tex, hold up a minute.
03:19I smell smoke. Any campers around here?
03:22Not that I know about.
03:23There's the fire, Clutch.
03:25It's that ranch.
03:28Come on.
03:29Having a moment to lose, the whole place may go up in smoke.
03:44Can they get back in time to save the barn?
03:47Be sure to tune in for the next exciting episode with Clutch Cargo.
04:04Clutch Cargo, with his pals Winner and Cuddlefoot,
04:08in another exciting adventure, The Rustlers.
04:12You remember last time Clutch and company met Tex,
04:15a beautiful lady rancher who told them about her cattle disappearing.
04:19Determined to help, Clutch and company started out on horses
04:22to look at the West Forty cattle range.
04:25Clutch smelled smoke.
04:27Having a moment to lose, the whole place may go up in smoke.
04:30That fire sure has a head start. I hope we can save the house.
04:33Look, Clutch. Somebody in a horseback riding away from the fire.
04:37Don't do any good to follow them too far away.
04:39Watch in the barn, Tex.
04:41About $5,000 worth of straw.
04:43And if the cowboys say, that ain't hay.
04:46Well, look at that thing burn.
04:48Stop here. Don't take the horses too close.
04:50They're afraid of fire.
04:52We need all hands to keep that fire from spreading.
04:54Let Cuddlefoot hold the horses.
04:56The hose is over here. I'll start the pump motor.
04:59Hold them, Cuddlefoot. Don't let them get away.
05:01Okay, Tex. Let her go.
05:04I'll give you a hand, Clutch.
05:06Clutch and Spinner battle the fire.
05:11Finally, every spark is out, but too late to save the barn.
05:16Thanks again for trying so hard, Clutch.
05:19What would we do without friends?
05:21That's what friends are for, Miss Tex. To help.
05:24Spinner's right.
05:26You know, the more I think of it,
05:28the more I feel this fire was started on purpose.
05:31Somebody didn't want us to get to the West 40 range.
05:34They started the fire to make us come back.
05:37Well, the damage is done now.
05:41I'm going to take you and Spinner to the medicine show.
05:43The medicine show? Oh, King!
05:47And my medicine, known as Curit,
05:50will positively heal
05:52snakebite, frostbite, and dogbite,
05:56and will also cure hoarseness.
05:58Come here, Chief Surefire.
06:00Me hear what you want.
06:02Folks, did you hear that?
06:04Of course you didn't. The Chief is hoarse.
06:07Now, Chief, take a sip of old Doc Meyer's Curit.
06:11Whoop! That's enough. Now talk.
06:14Me okay now. You buy them and try them.
06:19This is just as I remember the medicine show.
06:22Golly, Clutch, we better buy some of that.
06:25It's great stuff.
06:27That's as fake as that Indian Chief.
06:29You mean he's not a real Indian?
06:31That's right, Spinner.
06:33That's Doc Meyer's helper, made up to look like an Indian.
06:36Oh, shh. Doc's going to sing.
06:41Oh, carry me back to old Virginia
06:47That's where the cotton and the corn
06:51and taters grow
06:54That's where the birds warble sweet
06:58in the springtime
07:00That's where these old fellers
07:04hard have long ago
07:13Let's get back to your ranch, Tex.
07:15I'm ready.
07:16Clutch and company and Tex, start for the ranch.
07:19Clutch, right there. Isn't that cow tied by the feet?
07:23Sure is, Spinner. Come on, let's look.
07:27That's one of Mark's.
07:29Somebody was going to come back and pick her up.
07:31I'll untie her.
07:33Wow, look at her go.
07:35Gee, she's glad to get loose.
07:37Clutch, let Roman know it.
07:44There she is.
07:49Golly, here they come.
07:53What's to stop them from being trampled to death?
07:56Be sure to tune in for the next exciting episode with Clutch Cargo.
08:03Clutch Cargo
08:11Clutch Cargo
08:13with his pals, Spinner and Paddlefoot
08:16in another exciting adventure, The Rustlers.
08:19You remember last time Clutch and company tried to save Texas barn, but couldn't.
08:24They decided to see the matinee performance of Doc Myers' medicine show.
08:29On the way back, Spinner saw a cow tied by the feet.
08:32As they released the cow...
08:35Golly, here they come.
08:39Quick, into that ditch, everyone.
08:43Lay down, everyone.
08:53That was a close one.
08:55Everybody okay?
08:57Okay, Clutch.
08:59I thought I was a goner a couple of times.
09:02There's always dangerous stampedes in this open range country.
09:06We're just lucky.
09:07Let's get back to the jeep. There's still plenty to do.
09:11We're here, Tex.
09:13I'd still like to see the West 40 range.
09:15I think we'll fly over it. Sometimes we can see better.
09:18Whatever you say, Clutch. Only I'll stay here.
09:21Whoever set my barn on fire may come back.
09:24I'll follow that same trail we were on.
09:26Come on, Spinner.
09:28See you soon, Tex.
09:32Those fences are the outside boundaries of Texas' 40,000 acres.
09:36Pretty big place.
09:37I'll say. Good place to play cowboys and Indians.
09:41See the white-faced cattle?
09:42Sure do. Can I see something else?
09:45What?
09:45Indians!
09:47At least I see an Indian teepee and a fire.
09:51Well, let's center down and take a look.
09:53You were right. Indians.
09:56The jeep is smiling, so they must be friendly.
09:59Let's get out and say hello.
10:00You friendly birdman.
10:02We friendly Indian.
10:04Me big jeep wild horse.
10:06This little jeep pony tail.
10:09How?
10:10How?
10:11Thought maybe you could help us.
10:13We're friends of Tex Wright.
10:15We friends of Tex Wright, too.
10:17We're friends of Tex Wright, too.
10:20We friends of Tex Wright, too.
10:23We help you.
10:24Many cattle disappear.
10:26Somebody steal them.
10:28You see strangers on ranch?
10:30Only strange cow.
10:32Look like cow, but foot tracks not like cow.
10:36Funny cow come every day.
10:38Two cows follow him away.
10:40That must be it, Spinner.
10:42Tex said she missed two cows each day.
10:44Golly, Clutch.
10:45What kind of a cow do you think this is?
10:47I'm getting an idea.
10:49But we'll wait and see.
10:51Where did you see these tracks?
10:53Me find tracks.
10:55White man go with little jeep pony tail.
10:58Come, me show.
11:02Look, many cow track.
11:05Now you see funny cow track.
11:07By golly, you're right, little jeep.
11:09Why, they look almost like a man's track.
11:12You wouldn't surprise me at all if they are a man's footprints
11:15disguised to look like cow tracks.
11:18Different funny tracks up ahead, you'll see.
11:21Funny is right.
11:23Those are automobile tracks.
11:25The other tracks stop right here.
11:27Do you think this is where they load the stolen cattle?
11:31Couldn't be anything else.
11:32This place bears watching.
11:34Come on, boys. Let's get back.
11:36As Clutch and the boys start for the plane,
11:40sharp animal eyes watch every move.
11:48Welcome to land.
11:50Look out. He's going to jump.
11:52Can you see the claws and fangs of that lion?
11:56Be sure to tune in for the next exciting episode
11:59with Clutch Cargo.
12:17Clutch Cargo, with his pals Spinner and Paddlefoot
12:21in another exciting adventure, the Rustlers.
12:25You remember last time Clutch and company took off in the plane
12:28to see the West Forty Range from the air.
12:31When they landed, they met Chief Wild Horse
12:34and Little Chief Ponytail,
12:36who showed them the funny cow tracks.
12:38As they started back to the teepee...
12:44He's going to jump.
12:46Run, boys.
12:50Great fighter. He's like a mountain lion.
12:53Hold him, Clutch. He's weakening.
12:56He's sure determined.
13:00Stop fighting.
13:01Ooh, Clutch Cargo.
13:03Him, he's big, strong.
13:05Got it, Clutch. Thanks for saving our lives.
13:09Did you get hurt?
13:10Only a couple of scratches from his sharp claws.
13:13I'll be all right. Let's go on to the plane.
13:15When we get to teepee, me got a surprise for you.
13:20A surprise for me? Gee, what is it?
13:23He can't tell now, Spinner. It wouldn't be a surprise.
13:27Yes, Chief Wild Horse, we saw funny cow tracks and car tracks too.
13:31Now we find out who makes tracks.
13:33When sunrise in morning, cattle rustlers move around much,
13:38then two cows follow funny cow.
13:40We'll get to the bottom of this.
13:42And thanks for your help.
13:44Come on, Spinner. Let's go.
13:46Now, where's he gone?
13:51There they are, Clutch Cargo.
13:53Spinner and Paddlefoot, now honorary Indian chiefs.
13:57Well, that's a great honor.
13:59And thanks again, little chief.
14:06I think we know how your cows are disappearing, but...
14:10who's doing it? That's the problem.
14:12While you were gone, Clutch, I found this piece of burned paper just over there.
14:16Does the printing mean anything to you?
14:18Y-E-R-S. Yours. Medic.
14:22Well, Tex, I'm not sure.
14:24But from the look and feel of the paper, I'd say it was a poster of some kind.
14:29Were there any advertising posters on your barn?
14:31Why, no. That's against the law in this part of the country.
14:35Then this paper must have been used to start the fire.
14:38Okay if Spinner and I use your jeep?
14:40You go ahead, Clutch. She's all yours.
14:43Pile in the jeep, Spinner. We've got places to go.
14:46I'll need this charred paper, too.
14:48You think you may know who burned the barn?
14:50Yes, and maybe who's stealing your cattle.
14:52We'll be back soon.
14:54Clutch and company leave the ranch and head for town.
14:58Golly, Clutch, what's this all about?
15:01Just want to see that corny medicine show again.
15:06There's the truck, Clutch. No one around.
15:10Good. That'll give us time to look it over.
15:13Paddlefoot, you keep watch while we look around.
15:17Look at that poster on the side of the truck.
15:19Same color as this piece of charred paper.
15:22And by golly, the printing matches, too.
15:24Yours is for my yours, and medic is for medicine.
15:28Now we're getting somewhere.
15:30Clutch!
15:31Spinner, where are you?
15:33I'm in the back of the truck, Clutch.
15:35Come on in. It's not locked.
15:38Clutch climbs into the truck with Spinner.
15:40And at that moment, unknown to them,
15:43Doc Myers and his helper have returned.
15:46Wonder who's jeep that is, Spike.
15:48Don't know. Guess we'd better pull out fast.
15:51Yeah. We'll get going right away.
15:54Will Clutch and Spinner be trapped inside Doc Myers' truck?
15:58Be sure to tune in for the next exciting episode with Clutch Cargo.
16:08Clutch Cargo.
16:10With his pals Spinner and Paddlefoot
16:13in another exciting adventure, The Rustlers.
16:16You remember last time Clutch and company were given a piece of charred paper
16:20Tex had found near the burned barn.
16:23They started for Doc Myers' medicine show again,
16:26but found no one there.
16:28Clutch and Spinner had just stepped inside the truck
16:30when Doc Myers and Spinner came in.
16:33Clutch and Spinner had just stepped inside the truck
16:35when Doc Myers and Spike came back.
16:38Clutch, there's a cow suit.
16:41So that's how they catch Texas cows.
16:44Paddlefoot barks. Somebody's coming.
16:48Check that side door lock, Spike. And let's get going.
16:51Oh, and get me that wrench from inside the truck.
16:54Okay, Doc. Then we'll get us two more cows and leave town.
16:58There's the cattle rustler Spinner.
17:00Doc Myers and his fake Indian Spike.
17:03Are we gonna get them now?
17:04Not yet. I want to catch them in the act.
17:07Look out. Here comes Spike.
17:10Spike growls.
17:12Don't make a sound.
17:14Spike growls.
17:16Spike barks.
17:19Screw you, Paddlefoot.
17:21Come on, Spike. Forget that wrench.
17:24Let's get moving.
17:27Off goes the truck.
17:29But Clutch and Spinner have just time to scramble out unseen.
17:33We've got to make it fast back to the ranch.
17:35This is one show I don't want to miss.
17:38We'll get Tex and the horses at the ranch.
17:40Don't want to use the jeep. Too noisy.
17:42Clutch and company pick up Tex at the ranch
17:45and head out for the West 40 on horseback.
17:48The cattle are right past those bushes ahead.
17:51Let's take a look.
17:53Meanwhile, not far away...
17:55You ready, Spike?
17:57Ready.
18:00Here we come, little cows.
18:03We timed it just right. Here they come.
18:06That's quite an act.
18:12Here they are. Going right into the herd.
18:15They're all headed for that chute.
18:19I forgot. Today is branding day.
18:23Chief Wildhorse and Middle Chief Ponytail
18:25are heading for the chute.
18:27Chief Wildhorse and Middle Chief Ponytail
18:29do the branding.
18:31Good. This will be a better show than I thought.
18:33Come on. To the chute.
18:35The cattle crowd into the chute
18:37and on each, the hot branding iron
18:39leaves its mark.
18:41Here comes an odd-looking cow.
18:44Does it belong to you, Tex?
18:46They all do. That one included.
18:49Him funny cow.
18:51Him make me laugh.
18:53Now me make him laugh.
18:55Maybe.
18:57Yee-haw!
19:00Ha-ha-ha-ha!
19:02Yee-haw!
19:06Ho-ho-ho!
19:08Yee-haw!
19:10Him really funny cow.
19:13Ha-ha.
19:15Yee-haw!
19:18Ha-ha-ha!
19:20I never knew cows could fly.
19:23Yee-haw!
19:25Yee-haw!
19:29I think they've had enough.
19:31Come on out, boys.
19:33Show's over for the funny cow.
19:40When the sheriff took Doc and Spike to jail,
19:42they confessed everything.
19:44They showed him where they'd hidden your stolen cattle.
19:46You'll get them back tomorrow, Tex.
19:48I want to thank you all for helping me
19:50and for getting rid of the funny cow forever.
19:52Oh yeah?
19:54Good luck!
19:56Ha-ha-ha-ha!
19:59And so ends the exciting story
