00:00It isnt often that clutch and company have to use pontoons on the plane instead of wheels,
00:23but theyre off on a fishing trip to the Canadian lakes. Relaxation is good for the
00:28body, Spinner. And what better way to relax than fishing, I always say.
00:32You know, Im for it, Clutch. Hope we catch the big ones.
00:36I think Paddlefoot hopes so, too.
00:39How far do we go?
00:41Its about 400 miles north of the border. What is a pretty rough country. Its patrolled
00:46by Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
00:48Theyre the guys who always get their man, eh, Clutch?
00:51Yes, Spinner. Ive never known of one of them to fail yet. They very often ride horseback
00:55and have a dog as a companion.
00:57Wow!
00:58I thought youd like that, Paddlefoot.
01:00Theres a river below us. Is that the one we follow?
01:05Yep. Right to its starting point, which is Potagould Lake. Thats where we land. The
01:11rapids in the river are too rough.
01:13Gee, things look so small from up here. That canoe looks like a matchstick.
01:18A canoe? Where?
01:21Right there, Clutch, in those rapids.
01:24Golly! It just turned over.
01:27Go! Theres a man hanging on the side.
01:30If he keeps drifting, hell go over the falls and be smashed on the rocks below. Weve
01:34got to try and help him.
01:42The water is fairly smooth just above those falls.
01:45Well keep the engine running to force us against the current and hold it from going
01:49over the falls. Here goes.
01:57This turns plenty swiftly, but once Ive got the throttle at an even speed, just use
02:01the rudder pedals and steer the plane upstream. All set. Keep her headed upstream.
02:06Looking like that, Clutch. Good luck. That man is going awful fast towards us.
02:11A little to the right, Spinner. Here he comes. Grab my hand, Mr. OYork Bonner.
02:21Hold her steady, Spinner.
02:23Did you get him, Clutch?
02:25Sure did.
02:30The canoe went over the falls. Ill get him in the plane.
02:34Is he all right?
02:36He looks half drowned, but hes coming to. Let me take the control, Spinner.
02:40If our engine stops, were goners.
02:46One of the floats hit a rock. Hope it didnt poke a hole in it.
02:53Yay. Made it.
03:00Hey, Clutch. Our new passenger is waking up.
03:04Me go over high fall. Me now on way to happy hunting ground.
03:10Well, Ill be. Its Indian Bill.
03:13I didnt recognize you.
03:15Oh, my friend, Clutch Cargo.
03:18Wow. Wow. Dont tell me you know him, Clutch.
03:22Ill say I do. Best hunting and fishing guide in all of Canada.
03:26Me very happy you saved my life, Clutch.
03:29What were you doing this far downstream?
03:32Me much afraid.
03:35Afraid of what, Mr. Indian?
03:37Giant monster dragonfly.
03:39Oh, gee, oh.
03:41Could there be such a thing as a giant monster dragonfly?
03:45Be sure to tune in for the next exciting episode with Clutch Cargo.
04:03Clutch Cargo with his pals Spinner and Paddlefoot in another exciting adventure, the dragonfly.
04:11You remember last time Clutch and Spinner were headed for the Canadian lakes to go on a fishing trip.
04:16It was a lucky thing that Clutch had fitted pontoons onto his plane and was able to land on the river
04:21and rescue Indian Bill from his canoe, which was drifting close to the dangerous falls.
04:26He had just told them hed much afraid.
04:30Afraid of what, Mr. Indian?
04:32Giant monster dragonfly.
04:35Have you actually seen this giant dragonfly, Indian Bill?
04:39Two times me see him.
04:41Me set traps in river to catch beaver and muskrat.
04:45Me go to look at traps.
04:47All traps struck.
04:49No beaver, no muskrat.
04:51Me set traps again.
04:53Go back and see giant dragonfly just above water, stealing fur from traps.
04:58Then him fly away.
05:00Sounds bad. It can scare an old woodsman like you.
05:03Heres Lake Pottergold. As soon as we land, well take a look around.
05:07Uh-oh. Looks like one of Clutchs floats is going to come loose.
05:11Oh. Were in trouble.
05:13That rock we hit releases off from the river.
05:16I think one of our floats is going to tear off.
05:26What do we do now?
05:27Have to land on one float spinner.
05:29Check all the seatbelts. Hang on.
05:32This is going to be dangerous.
05:34Okay, Clutch.
05:48Clutch knows that the only way he can bring his plane down on the water with one float
05:54is to make a high-speed power landing.
05:56Im going to try and run it up on the bank so he wont sink when we slow down.
06:14Brace yourselves. Here it comes.
06:16We made it. Everyone okay?
06:28Were all right, Clutch.
06:30First ride in plane. Think me stay, Hunter.
06:34Planes all right, except for that float.
06:36Well have to rig something later.
06:38We came in right before your dock, too.
06:40Him peaceful and quiet until giant dragonfly come here.
06:44Hey, we finally got here. Can I go fishing now, Clutch?
06:48Okay, spinner. Maybe you can catch some fish for lunch.
06:51Indian Bill and I are going up this path to his cabin.
06:54Heres the cabin. Is that your horse?
06:57Not my horse. Him belong to Sergeant Terry, Mounted Police. Him here now.
07:03Yeah, Im here all right.
07:05This giant dragonfly. Have you seen it?
07:08No. Indian Bill and I watched the traps for days, but nothing happened.
07:12Then the day after I left, Indian Bills dragonfly appeared again.
07:16Hope you can use some help, Sergeant.
07:18Sure can.
07:19Well, Paddlefoot, I think weve got enough, huh?
07:23Golly, wont Clutch be surprised. We caught five big ones.
07:28I guess the thing to do is for me to dress like Indian Bill and go to the trap line alone.
07:33Good. Maybe youll see something.
07:35Help! Clutch! Help!
07:38Its Spinner. Somethings happened. Come on.
07:41What terrible thing could have happened to Spinner?
07:44Be sure to tune in for the next exciting episode with Clutch Cargo.
07:50Clutch Cargo, with his pals Spinner and Paddlefoot, in another exciting adventure, the dragonfly.
08:09Last time, Clutch and company, after saving Indian Bill, headed for his home in the woods.
08:15One of them got cut from the plane, but they landed safely.
08:19Spinner decided to stay at the lake and fish while Clutch went with Indian Bill to his cabin.
08:24While they were talking with Sergeant Terry of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police
08:28Help! Clutch!
08:30Its Spinner. Somethings happened.
08:32Help! Help!
08:36The sounds coming from over here.
08:38Help! Help!
08:40Were coming, Spinner!
08:41Clutch!
08:43Get down! Help!
08:45You hold him, Spinner, Clutch. Me untie rope.
08:49Gotcha, Spinner. Youre okay now?
08:52Thats a nasty trick, setting a trap like that. Somebody meant to snag you, Indian Bill.
08:57There were two paths, and I guess I took the wrong one.
09:01But you didnt drop your fish. Wow, theyre beauties!
09:04I didnt want to get them dirty.
09:06Youre a brave boy, Spinner. Im Sergeant Terry, Royal Mounted Police.
09:10Now lets get back to Indian Bills.
09:12And as they go, someone is watching them.
09:31Whats the matter, boy? Its only me.
09:34Sure, Paddlefoot. Its Clutch.
09:37Id never have believed it, Clutch. You look just like Indian Bill.
09:41You keep them clothes good, Clutch. Thats my best trapping suit.
09:47Lets hope I can fool those furpies.
09:50Well move on down to the trap lines.
09:52Oh, this will be clean.
09:54The canoe is soon amongst the rough rapids.
09:58Wed better pull into the bank now.
10:00Then Ill go on along in the canoe, the way Indian Bill does.
10:03Here is good place to stop. All out.
10:07When you get to turn in river, stop at big tree.
10:11Youll find long rope tied to it.
10:13Rope got them hooked to foot on canoe.
10:16It holds you when you look at trap line.
10:18Well stay in the cover and follow you down.
10:20Someone may be watching.
10:22Okay. Im off.
10:24Good luck, Clutch.
10:26You need them.
10:29Boy, look at Clutch go.
10:31Almost like hes got a motor in it.
10:33Theres the bend in the river ahead.
10:36Now to steer this thing toward the land.
10:39Hope I dont rip the bottom out of this canoe.
10:43Made it.
10:45Thats the right tree, all right.
10:47Now to hook the rope on the canoe and let her drift.
10:50His canoe is back in the water again and hes almost reached the trap line.
10:59Thats good.
11:05Canoe is holding at the end of the safety rope.
11:07Trap line should be just about here.
11:11As Clutch leans over to pick the trap line from the swift water,
11:15back at the big tree where the safety rope is tied.
11:20Whats this?
11:22The rope broke.
11:24Oh, no, the paddle.
11:26And those falls are only yards away.
11:29The boats loose.
11:31Hes lost the paddle.
11:33Well still go over the falls.
11:40Can Clutch ever escape going over the falls?
11:43Be sure to tune in for the next exciting episode with Clutch Cargo.
11:57Clutch Cargo, with his pals Spinner and Paddlefoot,
12:01in another exciting adventure, the Dragonfly.
12:05Last time Clutch and company with Indianville and Sergeant Terry
12:09started down river to inspect the trap lines.
12:11Clutch, dressed in Indianvilles clothes, was alone in the canoe,
12:15held by a safety rope.
12:17As he reached for the trap line, the rope broke.
12:19The boats loose.
12:21Hes lost the paddle.
12:23Hes lost the paddle.
12:25Hell go over the falls.
12:29Clutch!
12:35Whats this?
12:37Hes got him.
12:39What a shot!
12:40Youre a master of the boat, Mr. Indian.
12:43Heave ho! Heave ho!
12:45Ho! Ho!
12:48Hooray! We saved Clutch!
12:51Thanks to all of you, I think weve drawn our thieves out of hiding.
12:55If you look at the end of that rope, Im sure youll find its been cut.
12:59Youre right, Clutch. Ropes been cut.
13:02Whoever did it thought you were Indianville.
13:04Theyll stop at nothing to get control of your trap lines.
13:07They cant be too far away either.
13:09Id like to scout from the air.
13:11Somehow weve got to rig up another float on the plane.
13:14Clutch, me got a big idea.
13:16Use canoe for float.
13:18By gosh, youve got it.
13:20Thats a great idea.
13:21Canoes about the right size, too.
13:23Okay, lets get going.
13:25The canoe is fixed onto Clutchs plane, and they are soon ready to go.
13:30Float lasts forever, but I hope itll hold for time.
13:33Ill stay here, Clutch, just in case we have visitors.
13:36Paddlefoot and I are ready, Clutch.
13:38Well help you look.
13:40Me come, too.
13:42Me sail canoe up in sky.
13:45Glad you ought to come. We need you.
13:47But youd better ride in the cabin with us.
13:49Well, so long, fellas. Hope you find out something.
13:56Well soon know if that canoe floats going to hold.
14:00Made it!
14:08Clutch covers every inch of the territory near the river,
14:12and everyone keeps a sharp lookout.
14:15But all they can see is an occasional trappers cabin
14:18and a huge deserted barn that begins to interest Clutch.
14:23That old barn not used in many, many moons.
14:27Almost fall over.
14:29There it is again, Clutch. Looks like it could fall any minute.
14:33That may be, but Ive just got a hunch.
14:36Its big enough for a giant dragonfly to use.
14:40Huh? You mean you think the dragonfly is real?
14:43I sure do, Spinner.
14:45Golly!
14:47I think its real enough to carry a couple of thieves and plenty of furs,
14:51and that deserted barn is the perfect place to keep it.
14:54Were going to take a look.
15:01Thats a pretty good canoe of yours, Bill.
15:03Youll pet em, Clutch. Me make em good canoes.
15:15Old barn not far now.
15:17Oddly it isnt. I can see it from here.
15:20Seems deserted, all right.
15:22Hey, look! A fence!
15:24Must go all the way around.
15:26Somethings going on here.
15:32Doesnt seem to be a gate.
15:34Guess well have to climb it.
15:37No, Spinner! Wait!
15:39Dont touch that fence! Its charged with electricity!
15:42Is Clutchs warning too late to save Spinner?
15:45Be sure to tune in for the next exciting episode with Clutch Cargo.
15:52Clutch Cargo with his pals Spinner and Paddlefoot in another exciting adventure, the Dragonfly.
15:59The last time Clutch repaired the plane by using Indian Bills canoes.
16:04They were able to take off from the lake in the plane and search for anything that looked suspicious on the ground.
16:10They found an old deserted barn surrounded by a fence.
16:14Spinner began getting anxious to get to the barn.
16:17Doesnt seem to be a gate.
16:19Guess well have to climb it.
16:21No, Spinner! Wait!
16:23Dont touch that fence! Its charged with electricity!
16:26Gotcha, Spinner!
16:28Guess well have to climb it.
16:30No, Spinner! Wait!
16:32Dont touch that fence!
16:34Its charged with electricity!
16:36Gotcha, Spinner!
16:38Gotcha, Spinner!
16:40And just in time!
16:42Phew! Boy, am I lucky!
16:44Me not come here for long time.
16:46This fence knew!
16:48Shh! Clutch! I think I heard someone!
16:51Youre right, Spinner!
16:53Come on! Behind those bushes!
16:55Oh, look!
16:57Me know him!
16:59Him Slippery Smith!
17:01Look! He went right to the fence and unhooked those two wires!
17:05He went through that hidden gate and into the barn!
17:08Come on! Well follow!
17:15Theres your giant dragonfly, Indian Bill!
17:18An army surplus twin-end helicopter!
17:21And look at the furs!
17:23Millions of them!
17:27That sound like thunder!
17:29If not rain, sun shining!
17:31Thats not thunder!
17:33Look! The whole roof sliding back!
17:36Where do we go, Clutch?
17:38You stay with Indian Bill.
17:40Im going to get in that helicopter.
17:42Theyre ready to haul a load of stolen furs.
17:44Clutch opens the door,
17:46looks around and crawls to the helicopter
17:49and climbs aboard.
17:51But just then...
17:52Gotcha! Spy on us, will ya?
17:55Youre all going for a little ride,
17:57and when we get way up in the air,
18:00Im gonna throw you out!
18:03All set, Mushy!
18:05The roofs open and here we go!
18:20Clutch!
18:23Clutch quietly unties Indian Bills hands.
18:26Awful quiet back there, Mushy!
18:29Go and check our fine-feathered passengers.
18:32Right, boss.
18:34Nice deal.
18:36Everybody nice and comfy?
18:40Youve got him, Clutch!
18:42What was that?
18:44Thats you, Mushy!
18:46Clutch Cargo is the name.
18:48Your friends laughing.
18:50Stop! Please, dont hit me!
18:52Im outnumbered! Its unfair!
18:54Tie him up, Indian Bill.
18:56Ill pilot this so-called dragonfly.
19:03There are your thieves, Sergeant Terry.
19:05Thanks, Clutch, for a job well done.
19:08When the furs are sold,
19:09the money will be turned over to Indian Bill.
19:12The helicopter was stolen.
19:14Well return it.
19:16Gee, youre gonna be rich, Mr. Indian.
19:19And you deserve it.
19:21And I guess this ends the mystery
19:23of the giant dragonfly.
19:27Golly, Clutch, weve got to go back.
19:30You mean you like that place so well
19:32you want to go back?
19:33No, Clutch, we forgot my fish.
19:38And so ends the story of Clutch Cargo
19:41with his pal, Spinner and Paddlefoot,
19:43and the dragonfly.
19:45Be sure to tune in for the next exciting adventure
19:48with Clutch Cargo.
