Homelessness rose more than 5 per cent from 2016 to 2021

There has been a five per cent increase in the number of people who were homeless on census night over the past five years. The 2021 census found around 122-thousand people didn't have a place to call home. The Minister for Homelessness Julie Collins says the government has already committed record funding to address the issue but its clear more needs to be done.
