00:03 By adding shape and definition with contouring,
00:14 you can create a more narrow face.
00:16 I'm Sally Wang, and I'm going to show you
00:18 how to do it with two shades of foundation
00:20 and a few simple steps.
00:21 For this contoured look, Sally begins
00:26 by applying Luminous Wear Liquid Foundation
00:29 in a shade that matches the natural skin tone.
00:31 She applies to the entire face and along the jawline.
00:34 This is your canvas to begin contouring.
00:37 Remember that contouring with foundation
00:38 gets easier with practice.
00:41 To find where to contour, place your middle finger
00:43 and ring finger at the top of your forehead along the hairline.
00:46 Then drag fingers along the side of your face
00:49 to the temples, cheekbones, and jawline.
00:51 You will contour wherever you feel an indentation.
00:54 This creates a number three formation
00:56 along the side of your face.
00:58 Next, Sally chooses a cream to powder foundation
01:01 that is one to three shades darker
01:03 than the natural skin tone.
01:04 This is what she uses as the contour shade.
01:08 With downward strokes, Sally uses the liquid foundation
01:11 brush to apply the darker foundation shade
01:13 to the contours of the face.
01:15 Be careful not to press the brush too hard
01:16 against the skin, as you may remove the layers of foundation
01:19 you apply.
01:20 As with any makeup step, remember to start sheer
01:23 and build up color.
01:25 To help the nose appear more narrow,
01:27 Sally uses the same darker foundation shade
01:29 to draw two parallel lines down the nose with a concealer brush,
01:33 holding it like a pencil.
01:34 She starts at the inner corners of the eyebrows,
01:37 continuing down the sides of the nose to the tip.
01:39 Then she blends both lines outward
01:41 down the sides of the nose with a liquid foundation
01:44 brush in a feathering motion.
01:45 She continues blending the rest of the face
01:47 to soften any visible lines.
01:50 If the color is too dark, wipe the excess foundation
01:52 off the brush and continue to blend.
01:55 After contouring, Sally applies concealer or a lighter shade
01:58 of foundation to the areas she wants to highlight.
02:01 Using a concealer brush, she applies concealer
02:03 to the under eye area, down the top of the nose,
02:06 to the center of the chin, to the center of the forehead,
02:09 and along the brow bones.
02:11 She then dusts translucent loose powder over the face
02:14 to set foundation with a clean powder brush.
02:17 Your contoured complexion isn't complete
02:19 until you add highlighting powder for luminous dimension.
02:22 With a kabuki brush, Sally dusts highlighting powder
02:25 to the forehead, the bridge of the nose, and the chin.
02:28 She squeezes the kabuki brush to create a fan
02:31 and taps highlighting powder onto the cheekbones.
02:34 Then she uses highlighting powder
02:35 to accent the high points of the face,
02:37 like the brow bones and Cupid's bow.
02:40 Now your contoured complexion is ready for your next makeup
02:43 step.
