Tour d'Italie 2023 - Geraint Thomas : “Everything is still very tight for the time trial on Saturday. It will be fun to watch and terrible to do”

00:00 Garen, three seconds lost on Roglic, 20 seconds gain on Almeida, what do you make of that?
00:07 Yeah, it was okay. When I went, 400 metres to go, I realised after 100 metres, 400 was
00:13 a long way at this altitude. I just tried to pace it and Roglic came past the last 100
00:23 metres or so. I just lost a couple of seconds on the line, but it's nice to gain some time
00:31 on Zhao and be super close tomorrow.
00:35 No big deal and the big final tomorrow?
00:38 Yeah, I think it's going to be exciting to watch, horrible to do.
00:44 Has Vincenzo Di Valle told you that you were lucky with the weather here today compared
00:48 to him ten years ago with the storm and the snow?
00:52 Yes, we've been lucky the last few days, but we've had plenty of bad weather, so it's nice
00:58 to have some bit of warm conditions.
01:02 You probably saw some Slovenian flags today. Do you have the feeling that tomorrow it will
01:07 be an away game for you?
01:09 Yeah, I think so, but the atmosphere on that climb was incredible today. I think that's
01:13 the loudest. It was about 100 metres, 200 metres when Primoz attacked. I think that's
01:19 the loudest I've ever had in a road race. It was incredible, but a really good atmosphere.
01:25 Like at the Tour de France, you have to win the Giro through the time trial.
01:29 Yeah, slightly different, but we'll see. I'll give it everything.
01:35 Good luck.
01:36 Thank you.
01:36 Thanks Jeff.
