Le dernier vainqueur sur le Tour d'Italie 2023 se nomme Mark Cavendish (Astana Qazaqstan Team) ! Pour l'ultime journée de sa carrière sur le Giro, le champion de Grande-Bretagne s'est imposé à Rome ce dimanche à l'occasion de 21e étape, signant ainsi son premier succès depuis onze mois. Aidé notamment par son ami Geraint Thomas (INEIOS Grenadiers), qui lui a donné un coup de main dans le final, celui qui a décroché sa 17e victoire sur le Tour d'Italie a largement devancé les surprenants Alex Kirsch (LUX, Trek-Segafredo) et Filippo Fiorelli (ITA, Green Project-Bardiani CSF-Faizanè) à l'issue d'un sprint massif marqué par une grosse chute à une cinquantaine de mètres de l'arrivée. Entouré par ses coéquipiers de la Jumbo-Visma, Primoz Roglic a quant à lui vécu une ultime journée de course sans embûche - même si le final a été très tendu - et remporte donc le 106e Giro.
