00:25 I've placed a small round cake onto a cake board and now I'm just icing the top of the
00:32 cake with some buttercream. I'm going to use 3 cakes in total, roughly about 7 inches wide.
00:41 And I'm going to stack them on top of each other and fill in buttercream in the layers
00:47 in between.
00:52 Next I'm going to use a serrated knife and I'm going to trim the cake at the top so that
00:56 it looks like the skirt of Elsa's dress.
01:03 Just cutting off little bits at a time until you get the shape of the skirt.
01:14 Cleaning up my surface area before I place on the rest of the buttercream around the
01:21 cake.
01:23 Then I'm going to place it in the fridge to set for about 20 minutes.
01:30 Once it's firmed up I've taken it out and I'm adding a second layer of buttercream around
01:40 my cake before I place it back in the fridge for another half an hour.
01:44 At this stage I've realised I've forgotten to cut out the centre of the cake for the
01:49 doll's legs to sit in so I'm just doing it now with my circle cutter and my serrated
01:54 knife.
01:57 Using a spoon to help me remove the excess in the middle. You don't need to cut all the
02:01 way to the bottom, just enough for the legs to slip in.
02:04 Now onto my fondant. I'm rolling out some blue fondant and I've used a pin to get rid
02:11 of any air bubbles.
02:13 Now I'm cutting out a big circle with my cake board as a guide. You want it fairly big because
02:20 you want it to cover the whole skirt.
02:24 Using some royal icing I'm going to stick my cake onto my cake board.
02:37 Now I've cut a little circle out of the centre and I've cut a cut from the centre to the
02:44 outside before I lift it up.
02:48 And placing it carefully onto the cake.
03:02 Just shaping the skirt.
03:09 And making sure that the front is all covered.
03:18 And now I'm going to stick my skirt onto the cake.
03:25 Ok now I'm getting my doll and just wrapping her legs in cling wrap.
03:32 and because this particular doll has got this funny structure, I'm going to stick
03:39 the white fondant on the sides.
03:46 I'm using a little template to cut out a bodice.
03:53 And before I put it on her I'm going to put some impressions with a snowflake plunger cutter.
04:01 And using a little bit of water I'm going to stick the snowflake on.
04:09 And now I'm going to stick the snowflake on.
04:17 And before I put it on her I'm going to put some impressions with a snowflake plunger cutter.
04:24 And using a little bit of water I'm going to stick on her clothing.
04:34 And trimming the excess off.
05:03 I've rolled out some light blue fondant and I've cut out two long strips.
05:10 Now gluing it onto the arm section.
05:20 Gently pressing and smoothing over until it joins up.
05:30 Trimming off the excess fondant.
05:35 I'm using a toothpick to help maneuver it into place.
05:45 And now I'm going to glue on the arm.
05:50 And using a little bit of water I'm going to put some impressions with a snowflake plunger cutter.
05:57 And using a little bit of water I'm going to put some impressions with a snowflake plunger cutter.
06:04 And using a little bit of water I'm going to put some impressions with a snowflake plunger cutter.
06:11 And using a little bit of water I'm going to put some impressions with a snowflake plunger cutter.
06:16 I'm using my template again just to create a small section for the top of the bodice.
06:32 Attaching with a little bit of water and pressing it in with my fingers.
06:37 Now I'm going to insert the snowflake plunger cutter into the arm.
06:42 And using a little bit of water I'm going to put some impressions with a snowflake plunger cutter.
06:47 And using a little bit of water I'm going to put some impressions with a snowflake plunger cutter.
06:52 And using a little bit of water I'm going to put some impressions with a snowflake plunger cutter.
06:57 Now I'm going to insert the doll into the cake.
07:04 Gently pressing her in.
07:08 And using my craft knife to cut the excess fondant around her hips.
07:14 Now I can press her in a little bit further.
07:23 Next I've rolled out a thick strip of blue fondant.
07:27 And I'm just going to glue that around her hips to hide the join.

07:50 Now I'm just gently pressing down the strip of fondant so that it's nice and smooth.
07:55 Now I've rolled out a big section of the light blue fondant.
08:05 And I've cut it into that shape.
08:08 And now I'm using my plunger cutters to put some more snowflake impressions into the fondant.
08:15 Now I'm going to cut this section into half.
08:18 And I'm also going to trim the top portions off.
08:29 Just checking to see how it's going to sit on her dress.
08:38 And I'm going to cut the rest of the fondant.
08:42 Just checking to see how it's going to sit on her dress.
08:46 Now I've flipped it over and I'm using a tissue and some water.
08:50 Just to act as a glue before I stick it on.
08:54 Just shaping it around, underneath her arms and around to the back.
09:06 And just making it look like it's draping down the side of her dress.
09:11 Trimming the excess off with my craft knife.
09:35 And again, using a little bit of water to attach the second piece to the other side of the dress.
09:42 Draping it so that it looks like it's draping down.
09:48 Cutting off the excess.
09:52 And just attaching a tiny little bit that's fallen off.
09:57 (music playing)
10:00 Ok, now just doing the final details on the cake.
10:11 I've used a little number 3 cutter to cut out a fondant 3 and I'm attaching it with a little bit of water to a wire.
10:20 And I'm setting it aside to set for at least an hour or so.
10:25 I've cut out some letters to spell out the birthday girl's name.
10:30 And I'm making some candle holders with some fondant.
10:39 I'm also balling up a tiny little ball of white fondant.
10:44 And I'm also cutting out some white snowflakes and some blue snowflakes.
10:49 (music playing)
10:52 Attaching the number onto her hand.
10:59 Just wrapping the wire around her hand.
11:02 And now gluing on my little snowball onto her hand with some royal icing.
11:09 And also gluing on the name and the snowflake onto the cake board.
11:14 Finishing off with a little bit of ribbon around the cake board and placing the candles at the back.
