00:00 Good morning, guys, and happy Friday.
00:04 Let's get right to the weather that's making news.
00:06 We've got some good news if you own an electric vehicle, also known as an EV.
00:10 Seven major automakers are joining forces to double the number of electric vehicle charging
00:14 stations in North America.
00:16 The effort is intended to persuade more people to buy EVs.
00:19 The automakers said 30,000 charging ports will be built on major highways by the end
00:24 of the decade.
00:25 We're going to keep the travel theme going here for this next story, but this isn't highway
00:29 travel, it's space travel.
00:31 One of the limitations of space travel is how long it takes to get from point A to point
00:35 B, especially when you're planning a crewed mission to Mars.
00:38 Well, NASA has figured out a way to cut the travel time in half, a nuclear-powered rocket.
00:44 This would not only allow for a shorter, faster trip to the red planet, but this type of rocket
00:48 can be more than twice as efficient as conventional chemical rockets.
00:52 We finish by going back across the pond to the location of the 2024 Summer Olympic Games.
00:57 I'm talking about Paris, France.
00:59 The opening ceremony, which is traditionally held inside the host city's Olympic Stadium,
01:04 will actually take place on the River Seine.
01:06 And then a number of aquatic races will take place on the river during the Olympics.
01:10 Okay, Bernie and Ariella, apparently there's more to this story.
01:13 For the past hundred years, swimming has been banned in the river because of pollution,
01:18 and the city has spent $1.4 billion over the last five years to make the river clean enough
01:24 for use in the Olympics.
01:25 It reminds me of how I only clean my house when companies come over.
01:28 Put the Radio RU on it.
01:30 All right, thanks Kevin.
01:32 Yes, he's a hoot, that Kevin.
