Well it's been quite a wet and humid summer so far for many of us, with showers making a regular appearance along with warm temperatures. But if brighter, sunny days are more your thing well there are some suggestions that the UK could be in for a bit of a heatwave in August.
Despite some countries in Europe experiencing extreme heatwaves, July was a pretty damp one for us here in the UK, but the two things are related. The jet stream pushed high pressures southwards over Europe resulting in warmer temperatures, leaving lower pressure directed at the UK, bringing more unsettled and cooler conditions.
But looking forward, and some weather experts have suggested that a heatwave will arrive in the UK, from around the 12th of August, that could see potential temperatures of 32 degrees, as high pressures track across us and then make their way East.
However the Met Office don't share this outlook, and expect to see changeable weather continue with showery conditions throughout the month, but with some shorter lived periods of drier and more settled weather.
