On Saturday morning the north of the UK will see lots of sunshine, with clear and dry conditions continuing through the day. Some cloud will build over southern England on Saturday, and this will bring the possibility of some thundery showers in the afternoon. Warm temperatures due to the sunny conditions.

00:00Hello, very good morning to you. Meteorological autumn does start tomorrow, but for the time
00:05being it is still summer and in summer we do often get some thunderstorms. That's what
00:09we're going to see developing later on today and through tomorrow. There are already thunderstorms
00:13across parts of France. These are going to feed a little bit further northwards through
00:17this weekend. Otherwise, though, for many a lot of fine weather around because of this
00:21high pressure. It's dominated the story through yesterday and will continue to do so for many
00:26today. Lots of sunshine on offer, particularly across much of Scotland, Northern Ireland,
00:31northern and central England and Wales. Further south, a bit more cloud building as we go
00:36through the day. Some places still having a good deal of bright sunny weather, but there
00:40just will be a bit more cloud than further north. With the cloud, there will also be
00:45the risk of some thunderstorms. A bit uncertain as to exactly where we're going to see these
00:50developing if at all, but there is the potential that we could see some heavy thundery downpours.
00:54So do watch out for those in the south at least. Temperatures are going to be well on
00:59the warm side really because of the sunshine. Generally seeing highs in the low to mid 20s,
01:05mid 20s most likely towards the south, the low 20s further north still warm in that sunshine.
01:11More fine weather to come as we go through the end of the day for many, but in the south
01:15we are going to see the showers perhaps becoming a bit more widespread, pushing a little bit
01:18further northwards and they'll continue to push further northwards as we go through the
01:22day. They are still going to be pretty here to miss, so many of us will avoid them, but
01:26just be aware perhaps over East Anglia there's a chance that you could get woken up by some
01:30heavy rain or the odd rumble of thunder. A bit more cloud through tonight than there
01:34was last night and we do have some more humid air coming through and so temperatures won't
01:39drop as much. It will still be perhaps a little fresh, cool towards the north northwest of
01:44the UK where we get the clear skies still, but for many it's going to be a warmer, milder
01:48night especially towards the southeast. More showers are possible as we go through tomorrow.
01:54They are still going to be pretty hit or miss. There won't be a huge amount of them potentially,
02:00but there will still be some quite likely. Most likely perhaps around some eastern parts
02:05they may spread a bit further west and also the potential for some more showers to come
02:09up from the south as we go through the afternoon and it is just always worth bearing in mind
02:14that some of these showers could be quite heavy. We could see some localised impacts
02:18if we do see any intense downpours and there's also the risk of some frequent lightning and
02:22hail mixed in with them too, although many of us likely to stay dry and avoid them. There
02:28are a bit more cloud on Sunday compared to Saturday but with the more humid air for some
02:32it is going to be a bit hotter. In the southeast could get into the high 20s perhaps and even
02:38elsewhere low 20s quite likely. Perhaps across Scotland temperatures will be down a couple
02:42of degrees compared to today because of the fact that there'll be a bit more cloud around.
02:47There is a front waiting out in the west and that's going to push its way across the
02:51UK as we go early next week and so that is going to lead to a likely to be a pretty unsettled
02:56start to next week. What happens thereafter? Some uncertainty. I think we will see some
03:01rain, some thunderstorms at times and that rain could be quite heavy but then there are
03:05some signs we could have high pressure building from the west and if that happens then things
03:09could turn a little bit drier but definitely no guarantee that we're going to see that
03:13happening. Now that's it for me. I'm actually taking a few months off so I won't be
03:17around for a little while but all of my colleagues will be able to keep you up to date so make
03:21sure you subscribe to our YouTube channel and never miss an update. Enjoy your weekend.
03:25Bye bye.
