Crisis talks have been held in Perth in the wake of the deaths of two women in alleged domestic violence incidents in the past fortnight. Grieving family members gathering to remember a loved one whose life has been cut short.

00:30 35-year-old Tiffany Anne Woodley was found with extensive injuries at a Bedford home on Monday.
00:35 Police allege she was a victim of domestic violence.
00:39 It follows the death of another woman, 32-year-old Georgia Lyle,
00:43 two weeks earlier in a suspected murder-suicide at the hands of her partner.
00:47 Today, advocates holding crisis talks, saying enough is enough.

00:54 and actually be supporting women and children
00:57 who are experiencing domestic family violence right now.
01:00 Police data has revealed WA last year experienced the highest number of reported
01:05 family assaults and threatening behaviour in nearly a decade.
01:08 But police say it could just be the tip of the iceberg.

01:15 I can't say whether it's growing based on the fact that it's largely unreported.

01:24 Advocates believe it's a health crisis.
01:27 At the moment, the crisis end of things really gets by on the smell of an oily rag.
01:32 Prevention, early intervention, recovery and response gets by on nothing.
01:38 We need to do better than that.
01:40 The government insisting the issue is high on its agenda.
01:44 We're the first state to have a dedicated minister for family domestic violence.
01:47 We've invested well over $200 million since 2017.
01:52 The government urged to listen to those on the front lines,
01:55 particularly Indigenous women statistically more likely to experience domestic violence.
