While many expect a lot of runs in the 2019 Cricket World Cup, bowlers are bound to come into play at some stage, feels New Zealand cricket team skipper Kane Williamson. The 28-year-old also said the presence of experienced players such as Ross Taylor, Martin Guptill, Tim Southee and Trent Boult will be an advantage for the Kiwis, who reached the 2015 World Cup final before losing to eventual champions Australia.

00:00 There were a few guys that were in the last World Cup, which was great, so there is some
00:10 experience there, but naturally with four years in between tournaments, there is a lot
00:15 of new players as well.
00:17 I guess there's been a lot of talk around rankings, favourites, underdogs.
00:22 I think the thing that stands out is how balanced all the teams are, and when it comes to the
00:27 day anything can happen, which makes Wafer really exciting.
00:34 I mean we've spoken a lot about the batting, but of equal importance is the bowling attacks
00:40 and how they operate in order to restrict perhaps some of those bigger totals.
00:45 Maybe in the first half of the comp where there may be some more free flow play, but
00:50 also we're playing on a number of similar grounds where wickets and blocks may deteriorate
00:54 a little bit as well, and there are so many matches that whether some are more suited
01:00 to the bat, I have no doubt that there will be some more suited to the ball.
01:04 So everybody has a role to play and it's important, I guess, we're all hoping that we'll stick
01:09 together as sides to try and navigate our way through the tournament.
