As inflation continues to grip the nation, Washington D.C.'s historic Union Station stands at the centre of a growing public outcry. Commuters are expressing their frustrations over skyrocketing metro fares, which have become increasingly burdensome amid rising living costs.

Once a bustling hub of travel and commerce, the 112-year-old station, designed by renowned architect Daniel Burnham, now reflects the struggles of everyday Americans grappling with economic challenges. With its stunning gold-gilded ceiling and diverse array of shops and eateries, Union Station symbolises not just transportation but also the realities of inflation that have affected millions.
