00:44 I'm here at the Dry Bar with owner Amy Ross.
00:46 She owns this and actually all six locations here in Arizona.
00:50 This morning I came in looking a mess and now I have this beautiful blow dry.
00:56 I went to work, I came back, it still looks good.
00:59 It does, doesn't it?
01:00 I mean, I wouldn't say you look like a mess this morning, but your hair does look beautiful

01:05 But what's great, Teresa, is this is gonna last you for a few days, right?
01:08 That's the thing with a good blowout.
01:10 It's not just for today, it's for a few days.
01:12 That's the power of a good blow dry.
01:15 Absolutely.
01:16 And that's what always intrigued me about blow dries.
01:18 We've been doing this now for almost 13 years in the Valley, which blows my mind.
01:23 No pun intended.
01:24 But you know, I have naturally curly hair and I love getting a blowout.
01:30 And it really lasts me.
01:31 I mean, I only wash my hair probably every five days.
01:34 Don't tell anybody.

01:36 And I feel like I might owe you guys a co-pay because it was therapeutic.
01:41 I left here with a bounce in my hair and my step.

01:45 You know, I always say it's interesting to watch women come in because they come in and
01:49 they're like, "Oh, hi, I'm here.
01:50 My name's Amy."
01:52 And they walk out and it's sort of that moment in Pretty Woman when Julia Roberts comes back
01:56 and she's like, "Big mistake.
01:57 Big mistake."
01:58 They just walk out with that exuberance and that confidence.
02:04 And at the end of the day, at Dry Bar, that's what I love is I really feel like through
02:09 the power of a blowout, we're just giving confidence and happiness to women one blowout

02:15 For those who don't know, what is the overarching concept of Dry Bar?
02:19 Absolutely.
02:20 So at Dry Bar, you know what I used to say is, and I still say, is that it's an old concept
02:25 reinvented.
02:26 I think back to like my grandmother.
02:29 She used to go and get her hair set, right?
02:31 They put the rollers in and they go to the beauty salon.
02:34 The blowout is the modern equivalent to that.
02:36 You come in, we're gonna wash your hair.
02:39 You can do an add-on with a scalp massage or a deep conditioning treatment.
02:43 Extensions.
02:44 Yep.
02:45 If you have like extensions, you can bring them in.
02:46 We'll put in the clip-ins for you.
02:48 If you have extensions, we can wash those as well too.
02:52 You're gonna pick out a style from our lookbook with your stylist.

02:57 If you need to use a hot tool like a flat iron or a curling iron, that's included in

03:18 You know how the beauty shop was the social center of their world.
03:22 And in the old days, you used to go get your hair set and that's where you socialized with

03:27 Absolutely.
03:28 Dry bar, for example, the room we're in, you have parties in here.
03:31 You can have a birthday party, bridesmaids party.
03:33 Absolutely.
03:34 And we do parties for all groups.
03:36 We do bridal parties.
03:37 We've done really great birthday parties for young and more mature women like ourselves.
03:44 So we have all kinds of opportunities at all of our locations to do private events as well.

03:50 Yes, we've already made the joke, but a lot of the looks are here on the menu.
03:55 And I have the Mai Tai, but all of the looks are named after beverages.
03:59 So what are some of the most popular?

04:01 You know, the Mai Tai is probably the most popular, but also the Cosmo.
04:07 The Cosmo is a big one.
04:08 Who doesn't love a good Cosmo?
04:09 And you do some sleek looks.
04:11 Yes, the Manhattan.
04:12 The Manhattan.
04:13 I either go between the Cosmo Tai and the Manhattan.
04:16 The Manhattan, I can try to do myself.
04:19 After watching for almost over what, 12 years, I tried to pretend I'm a hairstylist, but

04:26 I can see getting addicted to this because now that I've been coming in and I'm at the
04:30 location on 32nd and Campbell Back, we're going to have you list all your locations

04:35 But there are what you call bar flies.

04:39 So, you know, why limit yourself to just for a special event?
04:44 What's so interesting, and we're seeing a lot of it right now with like the back to
04:47 school season, we're seeing girls come in with their moms.

04:53 You can come whenever you want if you're a bar fly.
