Can The Padres Defend Home Field Vs. Marlins?

00:00 Another team that this is a team that I seem to bring up every day and
00:05 angers me more by the day.
00:07 A few weeks ago, I took a shot here on the San Diego Padres to win the
00:09 World Series, figuring if they got into the playoffs, they would have a
00:13 nice mix at a nice price and every day.
00:15 Those odds seem to get longer because why the Padres just can't put any
00:18 win streak together when a game lose to win a game, lose to it feels like
00:22 that's what they do.
00:22 The Marlins that are going to send Sandy Alcantara to the mound going up
00:25 against Seth Lugo, a slight favorite once again for the San Diego Padres
00:29 at a minus one 30 price and a total of seven and a half.
00:32 I got to tell you right now, the Padres are one of the most talented
00:35 teams in major league baseball, but it just hasn't worked out.
00:37 Are we looking at a dog price here on the Marlins or is it a bounce back
00:41 day for the Padres for you, Mark?
00:42 Well, can I just back it up and give you a full disclosure here that I took
00:48 the Padres first five in the opener of this series, uh, and had no sweat
00:53 cover as they beat up on Ryan Weathers, who's terrible.
00:56 I went back to the well with that same bet on the run line last night with
00:59 Blake Snell, uh, in figuring that, Oh, I don't know that the same
01:05 situation has manifested itself.
01:06 Uh, uh, Jesus Lozada has been bad over the last month.
01:09 Plus, you know, the Padres seemed to attack you left-handed pitch at home.
01:13 Everything just set up for me to run it right back.
01:16 And of course I gave the book right back that money that I had
01:19 gotten from Monday in the series.
01:21 So, uh, I don't know what to make of this part of me was actually
01:24 hoping that the Padres would blow them out last night so I could fade
01:28 Seth Lugo on this spot and go to the Marlins here, but it feels
01:31 like a coin flips an area.
01:32 I have passed on Lugo every single time, just because of the
01:35 inconsistency in this team.
01:36 And he's not one of the top three starters.
01:39 I would back after Snell, Waka and Musgrove.
01:41 So I would probably pass in this spot here, given the variance.
01:45 Um, I would lean San Diego because they're home and they, even though
01:50 it's Petco, they tend to do better at home offensively.
01:52 So, but I got no strong feeling the way Donnie.
01:55 Yeah, I don't have a big feeling on this game again, because it's
01:58 just based on the Padres here.
01:59 And like outside of Seth Lugo, like every time they take the field,
02:02 they usually have the better pitcher.
02:03 I don't think they have the better pitcher today, but it still is a
02:05 talented line of ender at home, but it's been so tough here to trust
02:09 the Padres with money at any time here this season, again, took a
02:13 little bit of a flyer saying if they can make the playoffs, I can turn a
02:15 nice price into maybe some hedging opportunities, but since I've made
02:19 that bet, they were like three and a half games back in the wild card.
02:21 Now sitting six games back.
02:23 I just don't see them getting it together.
02:24 If they haven't got it together over the first 120 plus games of the
02:27 season, I don't know how they're going to get it together over the
02:29 final five weeks of this season.
