00:00 Hello, here are the top headlines today making the news across our newsrooms in the North West.
00:05 A question mark is hanging over how many bedrooms Preston's long-delayed Shankly Hotel will have once it finally opens in the city centre.
00:14 When the vision for the former main post office building on Burley Street was given the green light back in 2016,
00:22 the plan was for the luxury facility to feature 60 guest rooms.
00:27 Just a year later this was increased to 66.
00:30 However, a revised proposal has now been approved by the authority which removes any reference at all to how many bedrooms may be included.
00:38 Several planned opening dates for the hotel have come and gone in recent years.
00:43 A bid to convert a former beauty salon into a training centre for embalming skills has got the go-ahead after a previous site was unanimously rejected.
00:55 A previous application to use a former warehouse in North Shore as a mortuary science college was refused by Blackpool Council's planning committee after an outcry from residents.
01:05 But a new application to convert a different premises which was formerly used as a beauty salon has been approved by Town Hall planners using their delegated powers.
01:14 There were no objections to the scheme which will see students learn embalming skills.
01:19 Work is well underway on a new coffee shop and wine bar in Heysham.
01:24 The dog-friendly venue will open in the Heysham Road premises which previously housed Time for Flowers after a change of use was granted by the City Council for the property.
01:34 Time for Flowers closed in October after nine years with the business moving to online only instead.
01:40 The new owners are now working hard to turn the property into a cafe/wine bar with an outdoor seating area and managers flat above.
01:49 Police investigating a brawl between Wigan Athletic and Bolton Wanderers fans after last weekend's derby have made an appeal for information.
01:57 Around 50 people were involved in the violence on Market Street West Hooton at about 4.30pm on Saturday August 19th.
02:06 A Section 34 dispersal order was issued to ensure the group left the area and one man needed hospital treatment.
02:14 The group have been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and have since been released on bail pending further inquiries.
02:20 The investigation team has now set up a major instant public portal for members of the public to upload information, photos and video.
02:30 The all-new Real Cinema Burnley will open its doors to film lovers next month.
02:36 The purpose-built cinema, which can be found in the centre of town as part of the multi-million pound Pioneer Place development,
02:42 will offer cinema goers state-of-the-art laser picture projection and digital audio in all seven screens when it opens on Friday September 8th.
02:51 Moving forward it will also offer community afternoon screenings, weekly autism-friendly relax screenings,
02:57 weekly hard of hearing screenings, weekly two-for-one student ticket nights and regular movie quiz nights.
