00:00 Now this is a look at the tropical
00:02 tracks that we've seen so far this
00:04 hurricane season in the Atlantic.
00:05 Yeah, we've made it through several names.
00:07 We're a little bit above average
00:08 as far as the number of them,
00:09 but as you see,
00:10 we really haven't had too many
00:12 impacts here on our shorelines.
00:13 Harold did make landfall near Corpus
00:16 Christi earlier this week as a tropical storm.
00:19 Otherwise, the next name on the list.
00:22 Would be I Dalia and we very well could
00:24 get that at some point here moving forward.
00:27 Now we have a lot of tropical waves.
00:28 We're watching here is Franklin.
00:30 This is the only named storm of the bunch here,
00:33 but there's a wave out here in the Atlantic.
00:34 Another one up near the Azores.
00:36 Neither one of these is going to impact the US.
00:38 We won't have to worry about those
00:39 back here in Central America.
00:41 That's a way with a lot of moisture,
00:43 and we're going to be watching
00:44 that moving forward.
00:45 Now, before we get there,
00:46 though, we get a deal with tropical storm Franklin,
00:48 which just put down some flooding
00:50 downpours into the island of Hispaniola
00:53 over the last couple of days.
00:54 The winds near its center are 60 mph.
00:56 This is a strengthening tropical storm
00:59 and it will move north toward Bermuda.
01:01 Well, there will be some impacts
01:02 into early next week.
01:03 Here's Bermuda right here.
01:05 The timing is Tuesday,
01:07 Monday afternoon with category 2
01:10 storm off of their shorelines,
01:12 but the impacts there will be more
01:13 so of a tropical storm variety.
01:15 It'll be too far away,
01:16 but notice how anytime a tropical system
01:18 moves even well off of our shorelines,
01:21 we are going to see the strong rip
01:23 currents and the rough surf.
01:25 So beachgoers and boaters on all
01:27 East Coast beaches this weekend
01:28 and next week.
01:29 Be extra careful.
01:30 Meantime, Bermuda.
01:31 Yes, there will be some impacts
01:33 as Franklin passes to your West
01:35 moving forward,
01:36 mostly with tropical storm conditions,
01:38 but we're going to be watching
01:39 this area of concern here moving
01:41 forward into the Western Caribbean
01:43 and eastern Gulf of Mexico
01:45 early next week, folks.
01:47 That's the timing because there
01:48 is going to be some activity
01:49 with a little bit of a surge of moisture,
01:53 and we know that the water is
01:55 so warm out there, folks.
01:56 A place like Fort Myers Beach,
01:58 which is still cleaning up from
01:59 Ian from last year.
02:01 We know we are watching this very closely
02:03 as we head into early next week.
