00:03 There are many reasons why I chose an electric car over a petrol-powered car.
00:07 Firstly, the extraction, transportation and refining of petrol
00:10 contribute to environmental degradation, air pollution and greenhouse gas emission.

00:35 Majority vehicles in the world are powered by non-renewable energy like petrol.
00:40 Over the past decade, more than 80 million barrels of crude oil were drilled and processed every day.
00:46 And one day, we will run out of oil.
00:48 By transitioning to EVs, we can decrease the demand for petrol,
00:52 which leads to a reduced environmental impact.
00:55 Driving an EV can mitigate climate change.
00:58 Petrol-combustion vehicles are a major contributor to greenhouse gas emissions such as carbon dioxide.
01:05 Whereas EVs produce zero tailpipe emissions.
01:08 You can correlate switching to EVs with the era of switching from handphone to smartphone.
01:13 So I would say, adoption of EVs into driving is the future way to go.
01:18 We got a MINI Cooper Electric which runs 190km per single charge
01:23 and the BMW RX which doubles the size of the battery for 420km per charge.
01:29 The MINI could be very useful in town driving.
01:32 190km is just nice to cruise to Georgetown.
01:35 And we only charge every 4 days.
01:38 The RX40 allows us to travel to KL on a single charge with efficiency driving mode.
01:44 EVs generally have a limited driving range compared to petrol vehicles.
01:48 However, the range has been steadily improved
01:51 and many modern models can travel over 650km on a single charge.
01:56 While it may take longer to charge an EV compared to refuelling a petrol vehicle,
02:00 on most occasions, charging occurs overnight or during periods of extended parking.
02:06 EV is the future of transportation.
02:16 I find EVs super cool to drive.
02:18 It's the perfect mode of transport between appointments in Klang Valley.
02:22 More so, it's environmentally friendly.
02:24 I have two Tesla at home, one for me and one for my wife.
02:27 Model 3 standard range, in one single charge I'll be able to travel 400km.
02:32 Whereby, I have another Model S that is a long range,
02:36 in one single charge I'll be able to travel 500km.
02:39 I find that there's no problem taking these two cars to anywhere.
02:42 With proper planning, I'll be able to make it to anywhere I want.
02:46 My hometown is in JB, usually this is how I plan it.
02:49 I will charge to 100% from my home
02:51 and I'll be able to make it to my hometown in one single charge without any stopping.
02:57 Unless I want to.
02:58 We actually have multiple apps to help us locate the charger nationwide.
03:01 We even now have an app called ABRP to help the new EV owner.
03:05 This app will help you to plan your journey.
03:08 I'm running two companies, EVs Malaysia and Zero to Sixty Garage,
03:12 where we specialise in importing very unique EV models from all around the world.
03:17 One of the frequently asked questions from my buyers is, "How do you maintain an EV?"
03:21 To maintain this car is pretty straightforward.
03:23 It has no engine, no gearbox in it.
03:26 You only need to take care of the wear and tear.
03:28 Another concern from the EV buyer is the lacking of the charging infrastructure.
03:33 I can say that the government is putting a very aggressive initiative
03:37 setting up a new location for AC charger, DC charger, all nationwide.
03:50 The target for Malaysia roadmap, we should be able to achieve 10,000 EV charger by 2025.
04:00 Not only for residents, you can see it's already available in malls,
04:05 in rest area, in petrol station.
04:07 Last year onwards, the increase of electric vehicle adoption is very, very high.
04:12 Our government policy is very friendly, especially on import duties exemption
04:19 and also excise duty exemption.
04:21 With that, we can see that the vehicle of electric car, the prices have gone down tremendously.
