Ewers Named to 4th Award Watchlist

00:00 Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers has found himself on his fourth award
00:04 watch list this preseason. The watch lists include the Maxwell Award, the
00:08 David O'Brien Award, the Walter Camp Award, and most recently the Johnny
00:12 Unitas Golden Arm Award. The Johnny Unitas Award honors a top senior or
00:17 upperclassman quarterback set to graduate with their class. Ewers is
00:21 entering in his second season with the Longhorns as quarterback having played
00:24 and started in 10 games last season missing the remaining due to an injury.
00:29 Last year Ewers completed 172 of his 296 passing attempts for a total of
00:37 2,177 yards, 15 touchdowns, and 6 interceptions. The Unitas Award has been
00:42 given out annually but only one Texas Longhorn has secured the award in all of
00:46 its history and that was Colt McVoy back in 2009. Ewers and his Longhorns open up
00:52 the 2023 season on Saturday September 2nd at 2:30 p.m. against the Rice Owls.
