Longhorns defeat Alabama

00:00 For the second year in a row, Texas gave Alabama all they could handle, but this year went
00:06 a little different.
00:07 The Longhorns left Bryant-Dinney with a 34-24 win over the Crimson Tide.
00:13 Texas got off to a quick start jumping to an early 13-6 lead and looking like the game
00:17 was in their control.
00:18 But as it goes when Nick Saban is on the other sideline, the Crimson Tide did not let up
00:24 and took the lead in the second half.
00:27 One thing many Longhorn faithfuls had not seen in quite some time was on display Saturday
00:32 night.
00:34 The ability to retake control and finish the game.
00:37 Quarterback Quinn Ewers, who was knocked out of last year's game early, was able to complete
00:43 his comeback in perhaps his most impressive performance, donning the burnt orange.
00:49 Maybe not in statistic terms, but in game management and poise, Ewers was as good as
00:55 ever.
00:56 Ewers was 24-34 with 349 yards and three touchdowns, including an impressive fourth
01:03 quarter drive to put Texas back on top.
01:06 The defense, however, looked better in the first half as they jumped on Alabama quarterback
01:10 Jalen Milrow early and made him extremely uncomfortable, forcing turnovers.
01:16 The day after arguably the Longhorns' biggest upset in recent program memory, the million
01:21 dollar question now seems fair to ask.
01:24 Is Texas finally back?
01:26 It is hard only having played two games, but one thing that is for certain is that this
01:30 Longhorns team is a force to be reckoned with and Steve Sarkeesian is here to stay.
01:37 From Longhorns Country, I'm Alexandra Cox.
