00:00 Not the most pleasant morning
00:01 across the tri-state in New England.
00:03 You'll notice widespread cloud cover
00:05 here from cities like Wilkes-Barre
00:07 and Scranton back up toward Portland,
00:08 Maine, Burlington, Vermont and Boston.
00:10 You are sucked into the clouds this morning.
00:12 You'll notice there is a brief stretch
00:15 where there's not much going on,
00:16 but then as we look further West
00:18 into the Midwest today,
00:20 more in the way of clouds and rain.
00:22 That's what we're going to be
00:24 tracking here across the Northeast.
00:25 Will start with today's round of
00:27 rain and some thunderstorms as well.
00:29 Boston, New York, Philadelphia,
00:30 Washington DC later this afternoon.
00:32 The same system that brought the
00:34 rain and storms Friday, Saturday,
00:35 and Sunday.
00:36 That's the same one bringing them
00:38 back to the 95 corridor today,
00:40 and we could even see a spotty
00:42 thunderstorm as we look toward
00:43 Monday night football.
00:44 The bills taken on the jets at 815
00:47 Eastern Time, largely dry,
00:48 still somewhat humid and a spotty
00:50 thunderstorm not totally out of the
00:52 question during the second half of the game.
00:55 Make sure you are heating lightning
00:56 safety equipment and your phone
00:58 is on when you're playing lightning
01:00 safety and heads up if you're going.
01:02 First of all,
01:03 enjoy yourself and second of all,
01:04 you want to make sure you are prepared
01:06 for at least a little bit of rain,
01:08 perhaps a poncho for the second
01:10 half of the game.
01:11 Alright, as we look to Tuesday again,
01:13 that first systems on the way out,
01:15 but the second system is on the way in,
01:17 and that means more in the way of rain
01:19 and thunderstorms from Buffalo to Pittsburgh,
01:21 Charleston, West Virginia,
01:22 all the way back to New York,
01:23 Boston, Portland and Burlington.
01:25 This second system will bring more rainfall,
01:27 but Tuesday in through Wednesday we're
01:28 looking at just about 1 to 3 inches of rain.
01:31 The heaviest of it setting up along
01:33 and just West of I-95.
01:34 So if you live in cities like Manchester,
01:37 New Hampshire, Montpelier,
01:37 Vermont back towards Springfield,
01:38 Chicopee, North Adams,
01:39 Massachusetts out toward the Berkshires,
01:41 and even as you're getting into
01:42 Western Connecticut and parts of New Jersey,
01:44 it's going to be awfully wet.
01:46 This is in an area that's
01:48 already seen plenty of rain,
01:49 so be careful as localized
01:51 flash flooding as possible.
01:52 That said,
01:52 there's better weather ahead.
01:53 I want to end things on a positive note.
01:56 After that second system later this week,
01:58 we are looking at our first real
02:00 taste of fall like weather into
02:02 the Northeast high pressures back
02:04 in charge and that makes us a lot
02:07 drier and temperatures will be
02:09 a lot more like early October.
