00:00 That's not a LNS though, is it?
00:02 That is an LNS, yeah.
00:04 Well, if there's a LNS thing...
00:06 An enduring public curiosity long shunned by mainstream scientists,
00:10 UFOs now getting an expert look.
00:13 After a years-long study, the U.S. Space Agency, NASA,
00:16 released a report Thursday outlining what is needed
00:19 to decipher unidentified flying objects.
00:22 A 16-expert panel examined data on what is now called
00:26 Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena, or UAP.
00:30 The top takeaway from the study is that there is a lot more to learn.
00:36 The NASA independent study team did not find any evidence
00:40 that UAP have an extraterrestrial origin.
00:45 But we don't know what these UAP are.
00:51 The report insists there is no reason to conclude
00:54 that alien life is associated with these sightings,
00:57 and says only a small handful can't be explained.
01:01 NASA says the study of UFOs will require new scientific techniques,
01:05 as well as a shift in how unidentified flying objects are perceived.
01:10 But the findings are unlikely to satisfy UFO believers.
01:13 No top-secret files were accessed by the group,
01:16 and NASA admits there are so few high-quality observations
01:20 that no scientific conclusions can be drawn.
01:24 So to be clear, the space agency isn't ruling out extraterrestrial life,
01:29 instead calling for better data collection
01:31 and announcing the creation of a NASA director of UAP research.
