The decay of things over the time is so interesting - one moment it's right here in front of our eyes, a few years later it's gone. And seeing this decay in progress radiates a certain kind of fascination and it's the reason why I'm constantly drawn to places like this.
You'll find this Old Pump House West of Puerto de la Cruz (There is another one on the island and we will be highlighting it in one of our next posts). You can park the car pretty close to it and get to walk through these human made terrace fields, which you can see at the beginning of the video.
Sadly they locked the gate to the descending stairs to the abandoned pump house, because of security reasons. Maybe if I would have shown up 5 years earlier, the access to it would have been unhindered.
