00:00 Here's today's Derbyshire Times Video Bulletin.
00:03 A new three-day annual music festival in the Derbyshire countryside has been given the go-ahead,
00:09 despite concerns about the cumulative impact on the site.
00:13 Derbyshire Dales District Council's licensing hearing approved the application for the planned three-day Fox Festival
00:19 to be held at Kenslow Farm near Middleton by Eorgreve each July.
00:24 The application, submitted by Fox Trading and Events Ltd, registered in Derby,
00:29 would see Roxy Webster and her team host their first festival,
00:32 with up to 4,999 people attending, with a focus on all things sustainable.
00:38 Ms Webster said that the first year of the festival would likely be around 1,000 people at most,
00:44 but could grow, and aims to have a net zero carbon footprint in due course.
00:49 This would be aided by the use of wooden port-a-loos and bike-powered stages,
00:53 with the help and advice of her mother, who is a former member of the Extinction Rebellion environmentalist group.
01:00 Concerns were raised about the application due to the addition of a further festival on the site,
01:04 which already hosts two other festivals each summer,
01:07 with councillors granting permission with the condition that there is a mandatory gap of 28 days,
01:12 reduced from 48 days, between other festivals that take place on the site.
01:19 Derbyshire is set to bask in a mini heatwave this weekend,
01:22 with forecasters predicting unceasably warm weather to come.
01:25 The Met Office says temperatures could reach as high as 24 degrees on Saturday,
01:29 with warm weather at the end of this week pushing up temperatures for the weekend.
