00:00 Hi, I'm Scott Evans at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show,
00:02 and today I'd like to talk to you about forbidden fruit.
00:05 Now usually when we say that,
00:06 we're talking about stuff that we can't get in the US,
00:09 hot hatches and wagons and cottage super cars
00:11 and things that aren't sold in our market,
00:13 but this time I wanna talk about
00:15 not just the things that we can't have,
00:16 but the things that nobody can have.
00:18 And I wanna start with the Honda two and four,
00:22 what the hell is this thing called?
00:23 The two and four something or other?
00:24 So I wanna start with the Honda RC two,
00:27 what the (beep) is this thing called?
00:28 Okay.
00:29 And I wanna start with the Honda two and four
00:33 powered by RC 213V concept, if I got that right.
00:37 Basically it's like a go-kart,
00:39 but with the engine from a MotoGP racing motorcycle in it.
00:44 And it is the coolest, most bonkers,
00:47 dangerous looking thing I have ever seen.
00:50 And I want so badly to drive it
00:53 and I guarantee they'll never make it
00:54 and they'll probably never let anybody drive it,
00:56 but just look at it.
00:59 The next piece of forbidden fruit I wanna talk about
01:01 is the Nissan Grips concept,
01:03 which, okay, it's a sporty SUV,
01:05 which is kind of an oxymoron,
01:06 but look at it, it's really cool looking, right?
01:09 It reminds me a little bit of the Juke,
01:10 which doesn't look very good,
01:12 but it's a lot of fun to drive.
01:13 It's kind of like a rally car 'cause it sits so high.
01:15 And this thing is like if you had a Juke
01:17 that looked way more cool and futuristic
01:19 with these crazy doors and things.
01:20 So those doors will never happen,
01:23 these crazy wheels aren't gonna happen.
01:24 A lot of this stuff is never gonna make production,
01:27 but it's a cool idea.
01:28 And actually looks like it would be a lot of fun to drive.
01:30 The last piece of forbidden fruit I wanna talk about
01:33 is the Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo concept.
01:36 This is a crazy thing they did
01:37 where the Gran Turismo racing video game people
01:40 challenged a bunch of car makers
01:41 to make neat cars for their game.
01:43 And this is Bugatti's entry.
01:44 The idea, if you took a Bugatti racing,
01:46 what would it look like?
01:48 And we hear that if you take away some of the racing bits,
01:51 the ground effects and the crazy wing
01:54 and the silly mirrors and things like that,
01:55 that you might actually have a little bit of a preview
01:58 of what the next Bugatti supercar
01:59 is gonna look like in a couple of years.
02:01 And that's kind of the story
02:02 with all of this forbidden fruit in Frankfurt.
02:04 We know that they're never actually gonna make these cars
02:07 the way they sit, and that's disappointing.
02:09 But hopefully someday, they'll make a car inspired by these
02:12 and they'll be at least half as cool.
