00:00 The essence of Radwood is just to go ahead and have fun with your friends, celebrate
00:03 the 80s and the 90s, the crazy, the tacky.
00:06 So Radwood is a celebration of 80s and 90s car culture and lifestyle.
00:17 So we celebrate cars, the music, the fashion.
00:19 We decided to do our first event.
00:21 It was just literally us kind of mentioning it on our podcast.
00:24 From that, we had about 150 cars show up, no marketing, no nothing, and about 500 people.
00:29 So we're like, "Okay, there's something here."
00:31 And so that's kind of how it started.
00:33 There's a lot of nostalgia for the era because we are now celebrating the stuff that we liked
00:37 when we were in high school.
00:38 So it's kind of come full circle.
00:40 People celebrated the 50s and 60s cars for a long time.
00:42 We like those cars too, but this is more relevant to us.
00:45 And I think relevance is really the big kind of essence of it.
00:48 My name is Faz Horman.
00:54 This is a 1985 500 SEC Mercedes.
00:57 I paid cash for it.
00:58 A few years ago, I found it on eBay.
01:00 Motor's been worked on, full stereo system, inside's been cleaned up, body kit.
01:05 Just period correct, 80s hip hop.
01:07 Goes with the car, goes with music I listened to growing up.
01:10 It's a fun show.
01:11 Nobody's judging anybody.
01:12 It's just got a great vibe to it.
01:23 So Danny and I went to Goodwill and we were on the hunt to find anything that was 90s
01:28 era and what we can put together at that Goodwill.
01:31 And this is what we came up with for today.
01:33 I brought a newly acquired 1992 Suzuki Swift.
01:39 It was actually in the Radwood Facebook page.
01:41 I have a Suzuki X90, which is the off-road version, and it was a matching twin, so I
01:46 had to make the jump.
01:48 My name's Ethan Tuft.
02:00 This is a 1988 Chevrolet Nova Twin Cam.
02:03 For years, I had been looking for this car and I finally came across one in San Jose.
02:07 I've had a lot of cars in my life, over 40 cars, and this is probably one of the ones
02:10 that I'm not ever going to get rid of.
02:12 So you know, anytime you go to Radwood, you have to show up in some 80s and 90s attire.
02:16 I actually found this top on eBay.
02:18 The pants, not really Rad era.
02:20 I found those on Amazon.
02:21 And these kicks right here, throwbacks, I got those online for like 20 bucks, so I'm
02:24 pretty excited about that.
02:33 This is the award ceremony.
02:34 There is so much Radness out there, especially the Raddest.
02:37 Dressed was a difficult one, man.
02:38 You guys really dressed up for this one.
02:40 This award goes to somebody with dedication.
02:43 You could almost say Olympic dedication.
02:47 Feel the rhythm, feel the rhyme.
02:48 Get on up, it's bobsled time.
02:49 Best Raddest dressed SoCal is the Jamaican Bobsledder.
02:50 Congratulations, thanks so much for coming.
02:51 Jamaican bobsledding.
02:52 My name's Nick.
02:53 This is a '96 4Runner.
02:54 Just picked it up about six months ago.
02:55 208,000 miles on it.
02:56 So the outfit was cool runnings because it was one of the favorite movies growing up.
02:57 So when I knew I was coming to Radwood, I went, "All right, let's do this."
03:15 I outbid somebody way too much on eBay to get the exact helmet, but we made it happen.
03:20 Committed down to like the track cleat to actually have for ice grip as well.
03:25 Radwood, just the community, the people are great, cars are great.
03:30 There's nothing like it on any car show platform just because the variety of cars.
03:34 You kind of come up on something so clean, it makes it awesome.
03:38 It's a vibe.
03:39 You can have a Countach or a Testarossa parked next to a Camry and it makes total sense.
03:44 I think it's just having the enthusiasm around the era, around the vehicle.
03:47 I particularly like the underappreciated vehicles of the '80s and '90s.
03:50 I like cars like this that you just don't see anymore.
03:52 There's a lot of stuff here that I like and it's really inclusive.
03:55 I think that's what I really like about it.
03:56 [music]
04:03 you
