00:00 >> Whatever's case, he's in orange right now, so don't matter.
00:04 >> After Friday's game today, what do you think of the possibility of seeing
00:07 the same Texas team again a couple months from now?
00:09 >> Yeah, obviously there's that possibility, but
00:13 we need to make sure we're doing our part.
00:16 We 6-0 right now, but that don't mean nothing.
00:20 We gotta continue going through each week and go 1-0 every week.
00:23 >> What's the strength of confidence going forward?
00:27 >> It's up there.
00:27 It shoots the confidence up, definitely.
00:30 But like I said earlier, we just gotta follow our head coach's lead and
00:34 make sure that we don't get too high or too low at any moment.
00:38 Just knowing that we can continue to get better is the biggest thing.
00:41 >> Billion. >> What was this moment like for
00:43 Coach Venables after 49-0 for him last year?
00:48 >> Yeah, it was big time for him.
00:50 I'm really proud of Coach Venables.
00:52 We all know that that wasn't the result we wanted last year, or
00:55 the season we wanted last year.
00:57 So that's the impact, though.
00:59 Ain't nothing we can do about that.
01:00 All we can do about what is here ahead of us.
01:04 And today, we came out here and did our thing.
01:06 >> Billy, the way you guys finished this game, especially with the impactful big
01:12 defensive plays, takeaways, the goal line stands, sacks, and all that stuff.
01:15 Is that, you went through some ups and downs, obviously,
01:18 your first two years here.
01:19 Is that the suffocating, punishing, relentless defense that Venables was
01:23 talking about?
01:23 >> Yes, it is.
01:24 It's what he's proven his whole career.
01:26 What he's done at Oklahoma in the past, what he did at Clemson, and
01:30 what we're doing this season.
01:31 I feel like it's all starting to come together, and
01:34 we're nowhere near where we can be, so that's the good thing.
01:37 >> Have you seen it before, seen flashes of it, I guess, before, and
01:39 then today, it kinda all came together?
01:42 >> Yeah, yeah, yeah, you definitely see flashes of it.
01:45 Last year, it wasn't too many flashes, but
01:47 this year, it's flash after flash after flash after flash.
01:50 So just knowing that we can continue to get better and don't be satisfied.
01:55 >> Was that goal line stand there in the fourth quarter,
01:57 was that a statement for this defense?
02:00 >> I don't think it was necessarily a statement.
02:03 It was just us doing what we were coached, what we practiced, and
02:05 what we practiced throughout the week.
02:08 Those moments come, you gotta be ready for them.
02:10 Today, we were ready for it.
02:11 And our coaches did a great job preparing us.
02:15 >> In that final home area, hit the ground, what was going through your head?
02:18 >> We couldn't have asked for a better situation.
02:20 >> Yeah, we knew we were gonna come through it, and we did it.
02:24 We just can't beat ourselves, that's all.
02:27 >> How big was that holding Texas to just a field goal to set up the offense for
02:33 that final drive?
02:35 >> It was big time.
02:37 Texas was getting the job going, backed up.
02:41 They were getting going, and then we were able to stop them.
02:45 So that was great to just hold them to field goals.
02:47 Felt like we did that all game long.
02:49 I mean, they really only got one of their touchdowns on a busted coverage.
02:53 But so that's on us, but that was big time, that field goal stand.
02:57 >> What did you think of Dylan's game, Dylan Gabriel?
02:59 >> Yes, like I said, I feel like he proved himself as a complete quarterback.
03:03 Everybody wanted to compare him and other quarterbacks, yours and whatnot.
03:09 But I feel like Dylan Gabriel is the man.
03:12 He showed that he's a complete quarterback, can do it all.
03:14 >> You're over there getting coached up on defense when he's playing.
03:16 Are you aware of some of the shots he took out there today?
03:19 >> You talking about the hits?
03:21 >> Yeah.
03:21 Yeah, I mean, most of the time we're out over there sitting down,
03:25 going through some defensive stuff.
03:26 But every once in a while we get up and cheer the offense on and stuff like that.
03:29 But yeah, I've seen some of the hits he took.
03:32 When you have a quarterback who's risking it like that,
03:34 you know that your team is in a good situation.
03:37 >> After holding them to the field.
