00:00 In New York, thousands took to the streets to express their support for the Palestinian
00:03 people and to condemn the Israeli oppressive policies.
00:07 Our colleague Danny Shaw with the details.
00:10 New York City, thousands of people have come out in support of Palestine, against the barbaric
00:17 bombing and systemic ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people in the West Bank and in
00:22 the Gaza Strip.
00:23 Over here we have the pro-Israeli, the Zionist crowd.
00:28 As you can see, a very heavy police presence.
00:31 The amount of censorship in New York City and across the United States has been truly
00:36 disappointing, but also predictable.
00:40 Every public official from Bernie Sanders to the governor, Kathy Hoechl, to of course
00:46 the right wing has competed to come out with support to the statement of Israel without
00:52 mentioning these horrific bombings that we're witnessing, specifically over the Gaza Strip
00:58 where 2.5 million human beings, 2.5 million Palestinians are trapped.
01:04 And for Netanyahu to say that they should flee and find another place when he knows
01:09 that it's an open air prison and that the Palestinian people can flee to nowhere is
01:14 extremely hypocritical and murderous.
01:17 The actions we saw Saturday morning spoke for the Palestinian resistance in the context
01:23 of how many decades of apartheid, white supremacy and neocolonialism.
01:28 So this is what we're observing today symbolically on Indigenous Peoples Day, which so many people
01:35 have tried to call Columbus Day over the years.
01:38 But this is Indigenous Peoples Day in New York City, standing with the Palestinian people.
