I recently came across the original adverts for the Inspector Wexford mystery "A New Lease of Death" from 1991. They were on Youtube, and had been uploaded by member Daniel Carter 1993 (his account and the upload of this on Youtube can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0A4ASyiuvBU). The region is LWT, but I thought they might be of interest to those who either like adverts or are curious of seeing the original commercials that came with the drama they are watching. It features among it's adverts three comedy stars in George Cole, Gregor Fisher and John Cleese. There are 2 ad breaks in Part 1 of the Wexford mystery, and the adverts that featured are as follows:
1st break: Leeds Building Society (George Cole - Son in law's wedding day nerves); Sainsbury's; Outspan oranges; Canon Colour photocopier; Today newspaper (American Football cards); Vax hoover; Royal Insurance (I Remember the Good Old Days couple), and Mitsubishi TVs, before TV ads for Hale & Pace and a new series of London's Burning.
2nd break: Hamlet cigars (Gregor Fisher - Baldy Man photo booth); Tesco's pizzas; Gillette razor; Daily Mail newspaper (Rugby World Cup guide 1991); Talking Pages (John Cleese - Water Leak); Fruitini tins; and InterCity.
